I listened as Woofless's heavy metal footsteps echoed away and checked the door. Craft was gone as well, and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Now that Mat's phone call was done it was quiet. It was too quiet. I placed Woofless's flower on the desk and clicked through the camera. Bajan and Jerome were wandering about, Craft was back in Camera 6, Woofless and Vikk were nowhere to be seen, and Preston was walking out of the door. I listened carefully and heard the footsteps wander farther away and checked on the animatronics again. Preston was now with Woofless and Jerome was no longer in his room. I flipped through the other cameras and then heard heavy footsteps. I slammed the door shut and checked through the cameras. I twirled Woofless's flower through my fingers as I checked. Bajan was on his way over and I checked the time. 2:36 am. I groaned as I heard large fists slam against the door.
"Come one, come all! Put on your- safe-danger-ty equipment! D-danger! Danger! Everyone step back before they begin! 3- 2- 1- Fight!" Jerome's voice crackled.
"Hello Biggums. How can I hel-harm-help you?" Bajan's voice crackled beside Jerome. I gulped as I realized how screwed I was. I checked the power to see it was at 64%. He said I had a refill in the Electric Room, but how was I meant to get through Bajan and Jerome? I heard the banging start again and jumped slightly. I was screwed. I'm dead. I looked through the cameras to see Vikk was now with Craft. I groaned. At least some of the animatronics weren't trying to kill me. I heard the banging stop again and listen carefully. "It's time to go home doods. The arcade is closing soon." Bajan glitched as he began to walk away.
"Okay kids. Time is up. See you later Brandon." Jerome said, his voice breaking terribly over my name. I gulped and listened to his footsteps stomp through Storage and the door slammed shut. I sighed as I opened the door. I checked the battery and screeched. 12%. I looked at the camera and saw that the animatronics all seemed to be happy where they were. I grabbed a flashlight I had packed and checked the time. 2:58 am. I sighed as the clock was still moving. I got up and began towards the Electric room door. I looked through the Storage and stumbled backwards as an animatronic looked towards me. It's plaque said Log, although I knew him as Tyler.
"Tyler?" I asked as I stepped closer.
"Where's Branson?" Log croaked, voice box rarely used.
"He's in heaven. He got to move on Tyler." The robot let out a series of beeps and static.
"Not my- my Branson. Please save him. Branson!" Log screeched before powering down. He was dressed like his minecraft character, his hair held up by a grey head band and a grey jumpsuit covering his body. I felt like sobbing. I pressed on however and walked into the Electric room. I looked around and screeched as I saw two eyes reflecting against my flashlight.
"Hello! I'm Kenny! And you are?" The robot glitched and groaned.
"B-Brandon?" Another voice, similar to Choco's cooed. His voice came out smoothly, unlike the others.
"Choco. Don't make assumptions. Brandon is hiding." Kenny glitched.
"N-no! It is Brandon! I know it is!" Choco said as he pointed. His gears glided easily and I looked at him confused.
"Yes, I'm Brandon. I'm here. I'm not hiding anymore. Why are you different Choco?" I asked.
"I didn't struggle. Without Kenny or Preston I was nothing. No point struggling if I could be with him again." Choco said, causing Kenny to reach over for his hand. Kenny looked like his minecraft character, a grey sweatshirt and blonde hair spiked up. Choco looked like a yellow bird, not really having fingers. I felt bad for the two, especially Choco. He had to watch as his boyfriend and best friend were killed, and they were his life.
"Alright. I need to refill the generator before-" the power shut down and Choco squawked.
"Hurry! Jerome will be mad!" Choco yelled and I ran to the generator and refilled the tank. It began again, but I already heard the loud footsteps growing close. "Oh no. We can't let him die too!" Choco said as he heard the door to Storage swing open. The heard muffled struggling and then the sound of someone short-circuiting.
"Log!" I yelled, rushing towards the door. Kenny tried to call me back but it was too late. I swung the door open and gasped at the sight. Log had a hole in his chest, Jerome holding the metal in his teeth. "Oh god. Log?" I asked. His voice glitched and he groaned.
"I'm going to meet Branson now." Log croaked as his body powered down.
"Log?" I asked again, getting no response. I looked up to Jerome, seeing a sheer look of panic in his eyes.
"The generator was broken. I needed to make you- sorry- to- didn't- it- fix- hurt- want-" Jerome glitched out, metal piece on the floor beside Log.
"Calm down. I can't understand." I begged, wanting to get an answer out of the boy while he wasn't hostile.
"I only want them to fix it. But they don't, they just stare at me. Like I'm being unreasonable. No one understands me. I didn't want to hurt him. He was keeping me from asking you to fix it. Without the generator I can't talk to my Biggums. I don't want that." Jerome jittered. I nodded, grabbing his shoulder.
"You have to explain. You're different, and that scares them. That's why they stare at you and don't fix the generator. If you sent Rob or Vikk, they would fix it. They're human, and so they're not as scary." Jerome nodded, seemingly understanding what I was saying.
"What about my Biggums? Would they be afraid of him?" Jerome asked.
"Yes, but that's because they know that if they hurt Bajan, you get very mad." I answered, hoping I made it simple enough. He nodded before looking at Log.
"I'm glad you're with Jason again. Tell him I said hi." Jerome spoke, trying not to let his voice glitch. He stomped off and I let out a sigh. He just wanted to talk to Mitch? Then why did he attack me in the room? I sighed, accepting defeat and walking over to my office. I scribbled a quick note saying that I witnessed Jerome attack the Log bot when he came out of sleep mode. Hopefully they'd be okay with that. I checked the time again. 3:57. How did an hour go by? I rolled my eyes and clicked away at the camera. Everyone was happy again, content with their loved ones. I checked the power. 89%. Already? I shook my head and leaned back. I picked up Woofless's flower and twirled it in my fingers. I heard footsteps approaching and slammed shut the door. I checked and it seemed that all the animatronics were still in place. Who could that be then? Knocks echoed against the metal door and voice box hissed outside.
"Are you okay Brandon?" A voice smoothly spoke. I sighed opening the door for Choco.
"Perfectly fine." I replied, flipping through the cameras.
"Don't let him know that you're our friend Brandon. He promised to kill you." Choco said as he looked around the room. I nodded and studied the flower carefully. "He will make us kill you Brandon. Don't let him find out. No matter what." Choco begged before they heard footsteps.
"Choco, come back. It's nearing time for us to shut down." Kenny glitched from the background.
"Okay Kenny." Choco said before walking out the door. "Stay safe Brandon." He cooed before disappearing off into the Electrical Room. They must be in charge of watching to make sure kids don't go in or something. They definitely weren't kept as pristine as the others. Some paint had chipped off of Choco and onto the floor of the room. I got smart and kicked it all out of the room, stopping when I heard a slight whirring in front of me. I looked up and sighed when I was Vikk.
"Welcome to the Pack's Arcade! I'm Vikkstar123 and today we're going to be having some fun!" Vikk spoke, only croaking out a word once or twice.
"I'm sorry, I don't have time to play now." I replied before walking back towards the room.
"Do you have a party soon? I can escort you to the party room. Kids aren't supposed to be back here." Vikk glitched.
"No, it's okay. I work here!" I replied, voice squeaking slightly. Vikk shook his head no. What did that mean?
"No, you can't work here. It's after hours, you shouldn't be here. You should head home." Vikk said as his eyes grew darker. Was that even possible? He was a robot, and his eyes should only be one color.
"No, I work here. I am the Night Guard. Now could you please leave so I may get back to work?"
"No!" Vikk screeched and I stumbled back, falling onto the floor. I saw a blonde flash walk into the room and groaned. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die. I heard all noise stop and looked up. Craft was staring at me, Vikk staring as well. "Brandon?" Vikk croaked. I sighed. How did they all recognize me?
"Yes Vikk?" I asked back.
"Don't come back. He wants you dead!" Vikk groaned and croaked. Craft just stared at me and he knelt down. I flinched away as his hand reached out.
"If you're a friend of Vikk's, you're a friend of mine." Craft croaked and yanked me up. I yelped at the sharp pain the tug left but allowed it. Craft rushed off and Vikk followed, glitching on about how stupid I could be. I rubbed my shoulder and walked into the room. I had luckily gotten all the paint chips out of the room and checked the time. 5:44. I sighed and closed the door. The power was still at 60% so I should be fine. I collected Woofless's flower and placed it in the backpack I had brought with me. I took a sip of my forgotten water bottle and sighed. My friends were murderers now. They were forced to kill innocent people who were just trying to live their lives. And they must've hated it. Being controlled, being forced away from your loved ones. And soon, being forced to kill me. But I can't quit. I can save them all, bring them all peace. After all they did for me, it's the least I could do for them. A loud chime went off and I jumped. I looked at the phone to see it blinking again. I clicked the button.
"Congratulations! You've survived your first night at The Pack's Arcade! Give the animatronics 5 more minutes to return back to their homes and then you should be free to leave. I hope to talk to you again tomorrow night!" The voice from earlier, Mat, told me. I laughed and opened the door.
"I'm free!" I yelled as I picked up my backpack and checked the cameras. Woofless was back in Camera 5, smiling towards the door with a box of flowers in front of him. Craft was standing in Camera 6, holding a checkered flag in hand. Jerome was in Camera 8, a foam diamond axe in hand. Or at least, I hope it was foam. Bajan was back in Camera 10, a wide smile across his lips. Preston was in front Camera 7, a virtual reality headset resting on his forehead. Vikk stood before the lobby door, watching something move offscreen. I looked at it confused and and froze as a large crash echoed throughout the building. Words from Mat's phone call repeated through my thoughts "He usually won't attack unless 1- you hurt Craft or 2- there's someone trying to get in." I gulped and looked through my bag for some sort of weapon. The bottom half of Woofless's rose had a sharp point. I thanked Rob mentally before walking towards the entrance, rose in hand. I heard the banging and crashing getting louder as I walked down the hallway. I held my breath as I looked around the Lobby. Nothing? I checked what Vikk was doing and he was staring behind me. I stiffened and turned around.
"Oh, hello son!" Boss said. I sighed and relaxed.
"Hey. I was just leaving my shift when I remembered the phone guy said that if Vikk came to the room there was someone in the building. And so I came out here with the only weapon I found. Sorry about that." I replied, scratching my neck with my empty hand.
"That's fine. I would have done the same. Are you coming back tomorrow?" Boss asked. I glanced at Vikk who shook his head no.
"Of course. Why would I leave? I'm just getting started." I replied, looking away from Vikk. My Boss pat my back and chuckled.
"That's my boy! See you tomorrow kiddo."
