[CHAPTER 22: Too Late to Confess]

Eunwoo's POV:-

I was bored, so I decided to look for Yn. I couldn't see her anywhere. I asked a student.

Student: Y/N went to the library. Mr. Kim was looking for her.

Mr. Kim? Why does he always search for her? He irritates her sometimes... but ever since he came, he's been paying too much attention.

Maybe he admires her beauty. Honestly... anyone would. Y/N is beautiful, elegant, smart... perfect.

Today... today I was finally going to tell her how I feel.

People say boys and girls can't just be friends. Maybe it's true for me but not true for everyone. I've tried to ignore my feelings... but I can't.

How can someone not like her? After I tell her, my heart will feel lighter. I don't expect her to feel the same. I just want her to know.

And she's single... I'm sure of it. She tells me everything. Even when she gets hurt by a tiny thing, she comes to me.

I reached the library. It was quiet. I walked deeper inside...
And then... I saw something I should never have seen.

Eunwoo: Y/N!! WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON???

Yn: Eunwoo...!

She quickly pushed Taehyung away from her neck. Both of them froze.
My chest tightened. My hands shook. I grabbed Taehyung by the collar and punched him.

Taehyung: *grits teeth* Ouch! What was that for?

Taehyung: *glares at Eunwoo* You're insane! Don't ever touch me like that again.

Yn: EUNWOO! STOP!! HE IS MY BOYFRIEND!

Her words hit me like a knife. Her... boyfriend?
Yn rushed to him, gently touching his face.

Yn: Tae Tae, are you okay? I'm sorry. He didn't know... That's why he reacted like that. Please don't be angry. I'll explain everything.

My chest burned. My heart pounded.

Eunwoo: *voice shaking* I... I just... I thought... I don't know

I clenched my fists, trying to stop my hands from trembling.

Eunwoo: *forces a small laugh* Anyway... I'm happy for you. Truly.

Taehyung: *still glaring*"Hm.... whatever.

How could this happen? Y/N... with him? He's older than her. And he's her teacher

Yn: Eunwoo... I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you. Everything happened so fast... I didn't get the chance.

I swallowed hard. My chest felt heavy. I forced myself to smile.

Eunwoo: I should've known. You both... were acting strange these days. Maybe I was blind.

Yn: Eunwoo... are you upset?

Yn: Are you sure?

Eunwoo: I'm happy for you. Really!

Taehyung: *grumbles* Yes yes I can see.

Yn: Please, Taehyung shii be quiet.

Eunwoo: Don't worry about me. Couples have secrets... it's normal. You both enjoy your time. I'll leave.

Taehyung: Fine.

Yn: Eunwoo! Wait! Are you okay? Don't hide it from me!

I ignored her. I had to... if I stopped, I would break in front of her.

Maybe Mr. Kim is a good person. If she chose him... he must be. Y/N doesn't make bad choices.

Today... today was supposed to be my day. I was going to confess. But I guess I was... too late.

Tears rolled down Eunwoo's cheeks as he ran to the college roof. He gripped the railing tightly. His hands trembled. His heartbeat was loud in his ears.

Eunwoo: Why does it hurt so much?

He pressed his forehead against the metal.

Eunwoo: I knew she wasn't mine... so why does it feel like my chest is breaking?

The tears kept falling. He closed his eyes, trying to calm himself.

Eunwoo: It's okay... she's happy. That's all that matters.

Yn: Did you see him? He looked really upset.

Taehyung: Of course. Anyone would be after that.

Yn: Because you never let me explain to him properly!

Rosé: I saw Eunwoo going to the roof. He looked like he was crying...
