The cold dormitories began to glow with green, and resounded with the sound of water splashing softly unto rocks. Draco awoke slowly, and sluggishly tossed back the dark green silken covers. He slid out of bed, and noticed Crabbe and Goyle standing to his right, already dressed. He gave them a dirty look, making them shuffle away sheepishly. They went up the spiraling staircase, leaving him alone. Draco threw his robes on, stormed up the stairs, and entered the Common Room. The whole room was eerily silent, and there were a few ghosts lurking around that stared at Draco blankly, sending shivers up his spine. By the entrance, Lorelei stood waiting, Crabbe and Goyle by her side. Their faces were aglow with green, and they all looked rather tired.

Lorelei whispered something to Crabbe, and he then gave a surprised look. Draco said nothing, and sullenly walked out of the room and into the corridor, with Crabbe, Goyle, and Lorelei following close behind. They walked in silence for ten minutes, listening to the conversations in the halls. They were all talking about Harry Potter, the hopes they’d have him in a class, and their admiration for him. Draco looked absolutely revolted. “I don’t see what they all think is so great about that Potter. Didn’t even do anything, just had a pair of bloody idiots for parents that got themselves killed.” He went on and on about his hatred for Harry, and then he went on about the Weasleys and other “pathetic Purebloods”.

By the time they had entered the Great Hall, Draco had stopped talking, it had seemed he ran out of things to rant on. They sat down, and piled their plates with food. Crabbe and Goyle’s plates were once again filled with everything on the tables; Lorelei’s filled with toast, while Draco was simply eating an apple. The prefects then walked by and threw their schedules at them, to which Crabbe and Goyle murmured insults under their breath.  Lorelei suddenly stood up, and Draco turned his head to face her. “Where are you going?” he snapped. Lorelei looked startled, and replied, “I was going to get my books.” Draco then stood up, and then grabbed four green apples from a bowl, and stuffed them into his pockets. "How many apples do you need?” Lorelei asked, laughing.

Lorelei ran up the dormitory stairs, snatched her books from her trunk, and then ran back down the spiral staircase. Draco’s head popped out of the boy’s dormitory, and then he walked towards her. “Let’s go.” Draco demanded. As they exited through the Common Room, Crabbe and Goyle were dragging themselves down the dungeon hallway. Lorelei tantalized them, smirking. Draco sneered, and shifted his books from one arm to another.

They headed to Defense Against the Dark Arts, and returned laughing. “P-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-professor?” Draco said, mocking Professor Quirrel. They all burst into laughter, and made their way to Herbology. That day they went into one of underground gardens, and learned about Devil’s Snare. An odd-looking boy had gotten too close to the plant, and it grabbed him by the stomach, but as that happened, Professor Sprout cast a ray of light, making the plant shrink back. “If only Professor Sprout had turned her back for one moment longer,” Lorelei began, while they were walking up to the castle. "Then I could have seen him struggle for his breath, and then I could maybe been then able to see the Thestrals!" Draco began to eat an apple, and gave Lorelei a strange look, silencing her. A group of first-year Hufflepuffs then shuffled past them, and Crabbe and Goyle exchanged mischievous looks. They jumped at the Hufflepuffs from behind, and pushed them onto the grass. They pulled the Hufflepuffs' pockets inside out, and were delighted to find they were full of candies from Honeydukes.

Draco dived for all the sweets, tossing his apple aside. When he stood, his pockets were overflowing, while Lorelei scavenged fiercely for the Peppermint Toads, which unfortunately there were quite few of. They then continued their journey into the castle, and then went down the seemingly endless stairs that led to their Common Room. By the time they had entered, all of their faces were smeared with candy. Lorelei laughed when she glanced at Draco, his face was covered entirely in orange.  He looked at her, still chewing, and sneered, “What?” he asked. “Enjoying the Pumpkin Pasties, are you?” Lorelei taunted. Draco's face flushed, and then he shamefully rubbed his face with his robe sleeve.

They then went into the Common Room, and ate all the candy. They slumped in the couches, and began to cast charms onto all the wrappers, enflaming them.   After half an hour, Lorelei stood sluggishly, and suggested that they’d explore the dungeons. “Want to get lost, do you?” Draco grunted, sitting up. “Go if you want, and see if we care.” Lorelei replied, “I will, then.” Lorelei walked out, and turned to the left. Less than a minute later, Draco had caught up with her.  He murmured, “Making me come with you, can’t even go anywhere by yourself, you’re so pathetic.” Lorelei said nothing and rolled her eyes. They continued walking down the steps, further into the dungeons. It grew colder and colder, until she turned around suddenly. Draco jumped. “Let's go back now, there’s nothing interesting here. What a disappointment.” Lorelei sighed, shivering. “Getting scared now, are you?” Draco said, scoffing.

Something shining in the corner of the stone wall caught Lorelei’s eye, so she ran over to it. “What is it? Let me see it!” Draco yelled, shoving Lorelei aside. “It’s just a Knut,” Lorelei replied, frowning. Draco threw the Knut at Lorelei, saying, “Have that. I don’t have any use for that, I have enough Galleons for a million of those. Imagine the Weasleys don’t have even one Galleon…” Lorelei tucked the Knut into her pocket, and then headed back to the dormitories.

After a few hours, they headed to dinner, and then returned, yawning. The next morning at breakfast, Draco was reading over his schedule, until his face suddenly lit up. “What is it?” Lorelei questioned, her face alight.  Crabbe and Goyle were leaning over the table, staring excitedly at Draco.  He then showed his schedule to the three of them, and smiled. “Potions.” Draco said, slowly. “Double Potions."
