''I think you owe me answers.'' A cascade of dark hair that fell down a slim back was all she could see and with a voice as smooth as silk Ariel issued the wish. ''You need to help me.''

''If you come after him I will rip you apart.'' Garnet eyes burned into hazel as the flames from the candles jumped. Wind increased outside and the chamber seemed to spin.

''Perhaps you will. And maybe I deserve that.''

''You might.'' Everything returned back to normal and the falcon smoothed a hand down the bodice of her rich emerald dress.

''But if you don't tell me the truth, we are both doomed.''

''Because I can give you the answers no one else can.''

Hai woke, dark hair gleaming in the light of the fire in the dancers nest. She stood and slid out the doors into the cool morning air, trying to shake of the feeling of foreboding she felt after the dream - no, it can't have been a dream, it was to realistic.

She paced out into the cool morning light, cold nipping at her shoulders. Hai walked through Wyvern's Court to the avian market. She stood for  a moment, thinking. If this woman was right, then they were all in danger from something far older and dangerous than the falcons.

Betia uncurled herself from her mate, Oliza before brushing a piece of dark hair behind her ear. She slid out of the hammock and padded quietly to the forest edge, being oddly drawn to the dark haired man who stood there.

''You are not wise coming here alone.'' His voice was as smooth as silk and as rich as flames. In reply, Betia shrugged slightly. ''Still, you will do.'' Before she could do anything, his lips were at her throat and the pleasure-pain of the bite was spreading through her.
