"How can anything smell good, I'm just boiling water. I haven't even put the noodles in yet!" You giggled, feeling your mood lighten as Dyaln grinned at you while taking a seat on a stool at the island in the middle of the kitchen.

"Spaghetti or mac n cheese?" Dylan asked.

"Spaghetti." You turned to your pot and put the noodles in the now boiling water.

"How did you know that was my favorite?!" Dylan's grin seemed to grow

"Intuition I guess." You smiled at his childish excitement.

"Will it be ready soooon??" Dylan whined, getting up and dragging his feet toward you. His arms wrapped around your middle and he buried his face in your hair. You inhaled sharply and closed your eyes, not expecting it but you quickly relaxed as tingles shot through your body warming you from your head to your bare toes. Dylan adjusted his head so his lips were at your ear and you shivered in happiness. "I love spaghetti." Dylan whispered, his warm breath was almost too nice and you were worried about melting through his arms. You opened your eyes and realized what he was doing. He had grabbed a noodle and pulled it out of the pot and up to his mouth.

"It will be ready in about 10 minutes so you can relax now mister." You pulled back out of his arms and whacked him playfully with a towel.

Dylan exagerated a groan as you opened the jar of sauce.

"Can I help?" Dylan asked after about 6 seconds of patience.

"Yeah can you get out a strainer" you glanced over your shoulder as you spoke and caught his eye. You immediately turned back around and smiled at your pasta.

You heard a clanking noise and the loud, jarring sound of pans falling behind you followed by a couple curses. You winced and turned around. Dylan stood in front of an open cabinet with pots, pans, and various kitchen stuff splayed around his feet. In his hands he held a strainer. "Found it."

You choked on your laughter at the ridiculous sight and held out your hands for the strainer. Dylan handed it to you just as one last avalanche of things poured out of the cabinet. Dylan hopped away before they landed on his toes and you lost any control you had left. You cracked up, practically doubled over even though it wasn't that funny.

Dylan just smiled at you sheepishly before laughing with you. After you had settled enough you drained the pasta and added the sauce to the empty pan. You poured the noodles over the sauce and began stirring when you felt a hand on your shoulder. Electricity arched from his hand into you in a good way. You wanted more of it. Dylan reached over your shoulder and into the pot, plucking a piece of spaghetti and bringing it to his mouth with his fingers. You swatted at his hand and giggled as he laughed.

He had a smear of sauce on his cheek and you reached up and wiped it off without even thinking. His eyes followed your hands as you moved your thumb across his smooth cheek in an attempt to get it off. His eyes had gotten just a little wider and you suddenly realized what you were doing. You stepped back quickly and felt blood rush straight into your cheeks. "I'm sorry I wasn't thinking." You stuttered turning back to your spaghetti and giving it one last stir willing the sauce to warm up faster.

Dylan grabbed your wrist and turned you back to face him. " Its perfectly okay. There isn't anymore sauce is there?" He met your eyes with his warm brown ones. They made you melt and you could imagine yourself blending in with the limp spaghetti in the pot.

"A little on the corner of your mouth." You muttered as Dylan continued to inch you closer to him without breaking eye contact.

"Can you get it for me?" Dylan asked innocently, pulling you up almost completely against him. You felt electricity racing through you, your entire body humming. Your senses felt heightened even more as Dylan leaned in closer to you. His face was just centimeters above your. His warm breath tickled your lips and you melted even furthur. You leaned in a little toward him, so close there couldn't have been any less than an inch in between your faces.

"Of course." You breathed. Your eyes momentarily flicked from his eyes to his perfect lips. They were parted slightly and you leaned in to close the gap.

Just as your lips were close enough to brush his a timer went off behind you, signalling the spaghetti was ready. You both jumped and Dylan dropped your wrist before cursing under his breath. "So damn close." He muttered as you turned away blushing furiously. You were disappointed too.

"Can you please get out to plates or bowls or something for the spaghetti?" Dylan nodded and turned to a random cabinet and opened it to pull out the plates. "Oh, don't let it spill all over the floor... We have a big enough mess to clean as it is." You joked. Dylan turned his head to glance at you and he was playfully glaring which soon turned into a smirk. He pulled two plates out and set them neatly on the counter and you filled them up with spaghetti. Dylan grabbed two waters from the fridge and you put the plates on the island and sat on a barstool. Dylan slid in behind you and immediately went to eating.

You giggled again. "Do you like it?" Dylan looked up at you with a mouth full of spaghetti and nodded vigouously before returning to his plate to wolf down the rest. You laughed and continued eating, letting your arm bump his every once in a while. Every time you did you noticed Dylan stop chewing for a moment and glance at you with a tiny smile.

Within 15 minutes or so, you had both finished eating. There was no need to put away leftovers because Dylan ate everything left in the pot.

"Well I better go home. I have chores to do and I'm pretty tired." You said after you and Dylan had finished washing the dishes.

"Yeah I guess. I will drive you. Where do you live?" Dylan looked a little disappointed that you had to leave already but he would get over it.

   "Maple street." You answered.

"Really? Woah I'm on Oak! We literally only live one street over! What are the odds of that?" Dylan grinned at you as you slipped your feet back into your shoes.

"Huh. Thats really funny!" Excitement fluttered through you as you realized how close you lived to Dylan. You were really starting to like him. Like, LIKE LIKE him. A lot.

"Well then theres no need to drive. I'll walk you." Dylan offered, the disappointed look vanishing from his face.

"Are you sure? You don't have to." You blushed and looked at the floor, mentally scolding yourself for blushing so much.
