Bulletin

One by one they walk into their building.

Margaret, who worries about her sick child at home. Tony, who has yet to sign his divorce papers. Rick, who really despises his boss. Maddie, who is constantly being belittled. Elizabeth, who grieves over the passing of her mother.

And then there's Noah, who is feeling quite content today.

They all make their way through the front door and to their desks. They've been stuck in this routine for many years, so they've memorized the path and the scenery to their destination.

Although, today something seems a bit off.

There's a new bulletin board hung up on the wall today. It contains no words. No numbers. No information. Only a series of lines.

_ _ _ _     _ _     _ _ _     _ _ _ _ _

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _     _ _     _     _ _ _     _ _ _ _     _ _ _ _ _

_ _ _ _ _     _ _     _ _ _ _ _     _ _     _ _     _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

_ _ _ _ _     _ _     _ _ _ _ _     _ _     _ _     _ _ _ _     _ _     _ _ _ _ _ _

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _,     _ _ _ _ _ ?

 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _-     _ _ _ _     _ _ _     _ _ _ _ _ _     _ _ _ _     _ _ _ _ _

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _     _ _ _ _ _     _ _     _ _ _ _     _ _ _ _ _     _ _ _     _ _ _ _ _ _

They all winced at the sight of it as they assumed it would be a part of some team building assignment none of them had any interest in participating in. Each of them internally rolled their eyes at the sight of it. Little did they know, they were very wrong about the underlying meaning behind the bulletin board.
