Ema was new to the makeup world. When her friend had told her they were going on a girl's night out, she hadn't even thought of looking presentable, other than the usual lab coats and goggles she wore at work. Surely no one minded, she was a detective after all, and there was no need to wear jewelry, formal clothing, or makeup at all.
She had just recently bought foundation that was surprisingly her skin tone, and along with that she purchased the essentials of the makeup that covered her eyes and cheeks and lips.
Whilst she was driving back at home, she remembered she had left something at her office. Certainly she had no time to drive to the office and back at her home, and have enough time to get ready.
So she decided to head back to her office, not risking valuable and confidential items getting lost at work. Ema knew that there were few restrooms she could change in whilst they were still open during after hours.
The offices were mostly empty except for the reception and night crew working their after hours shift. They questioned Ema who was notably carrying bags of clothes and makeup and accessories that hung around her arms and wrists, but she gladly smiled at them and headed for the nearby restrooms.
She stumbled and wobbled on some steps she took through the doors. Finally she had made it past the entrance. The one thing that she wouldn't expect popping out of the hallway was none other than Apollo Justice.
His hair was not doing his best at spikiness but he looked fatigued. Ema was too busy staring at him that she stepped on his foot accidentally with the balls of her feet.
She stumbled back causing her shopping bags to make an orchestra of noises, the hallway was somewhat narrow making bags on her right arm shuffle against the right wall.
Apollo was startled, not by the fact she had stepped on his shoe, but that she was walking around after hours with odd packaging for evidence or forensic tools...if it was anything relating to her detective work.
"I'm so sorry Apollo!" Ema cried out whilst she scrambled to keep her bags weighted on her arms.
Apollo removed some of the merchandise from her arms and said, "It's okay...but what's with all this?"
"I had to...change some plans," Ema couldn't stare into his eyes while she said that.
Apollo couldn't think of anything else but to ask what he could do to help her. "Is there anything you need help with?"
"Umm..." She pondered. She wasn't about to give away her intentions, "I forgot something here and-"
"-and you brought all of the stuff from your car just to get it back," Apollo cut her off so suddenly that Ema was still finishing her word.
Ema was slightly embarrassed but she couldn't wait any longer or she would miss her night out. She didn't want to have to seem like a disappointment again to her friends.
"Okay...I need to get ready for a night out with my friends but I forgot something here. More importantly what are you doing here?" Ema was a little irritated, which was highly expected.
Apollo scratched his head a little and replied, "It's been a long day. I needed a lot if I wanted to prove someone being accused innocent."
Ema almost felt really bad for having him carry her bags, but he didn't seem to mind. His lips were hard to not stare at, it almost made her want to feel her lips.
"Anyway I really have to get going so I can take that to my office..." She reached for her other bags while Apollo handed them but as she got a grasp of one handle, Apollo let go of the other handle too early. Ema's hand strength couldn't handle carrying it with only one hand and the bag dropped, and out came her makeup products.
