6: Resolution

I impatiently tap my foot outside the office. I look around trying to find something to take my mind off of what just happened.

The door next to me opens, and the doctor comes out, adjusting her glasses. I stand up.

"Is she alright?"

"Yes, Ami is fine, Mr. Walker. But she's suffering from some unknown force.

The doctor hands me some papers, and it shows scans of what happened to her head.
"Where is she now?"

The doctor simply moves out of the way.

"I need to run some additional info by the
system, I'll give you a moment with her."

"Thank you, sir." I say, bowing.

With that, the doctor leaves, and I enter the room.
"Ami?" I ask.
Ami is sitting in a chair, back turned to me. She's slumped over.
No response.
"Ami?" I ask her, getting closer.
I raise a hand and put it on her shoulder, but out of nowhere, she jumps up.
I whip my hand back, as she turns around.
"Hey, calm down there, kiddo. It's just me."
"I-Isaac?" she asks.
"Yeah, it's me. You alright?"
Ami hesitates, and then nods.
"Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better now," she says, rubbing the back of her head. "I guess I just took too hard of a turn that I fell over."
That's not what happened, but I'm not going to pry.

We talk for a while, and then the doctor comes back. Nothing seems off about her, so what was that orange orb all about?

Once all the paperwork is done, she's let free, and I stop her at the entrance.
"Ami, you need a ride?" I ask her, holding
up my keys.

"O-Oh, y-yeah, that'd be nice. Both my parents are away right now, so I don't have a way home, but they called me to make sure I was okay."

"That's good to hear." I say, putting my keys back in my pocket. "Let's get moving. I'd like to be home before it gets darker."
As soon as I turn around, I bump into someone, knocking my glasses off of my face.

The sudden impact blows me back, but when I turn around to look who it was, they had already vanished into the lobby.

"Isaac, you alright?" Ami says, coming to help me up.
Ami picks up my glasses, and hands them to me.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I say, rubbing the bridge of my nose. Damn, that stung.

Ami and I leave the hospital, but upon leaving, that person comes back.

"Hey, sorry about that."

Of course.

"Ami, go on to my car. It's over there, dark blue."

I say to my friend, pointing northwest.
Ami nods, a bit confused, and starts walking.

"Figured I'd see you sooner or later, kid." I grin, turning around to see none other than Kirigaya himself, dressed in his casual clothes.

"Isaac?" he asks. "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing."

"Master," Emma says from the glasses. "Kazuto's heart rate is skyrocketing."

"Kid, you okay?" I ask, playing dumb. "You look like you're in shock."

"Not really," he says, gasping. "something just happened to Asuna."

"The chestnut haired chick? What about her?" I ask.

"That's what I'm trying to find out."

I look back towards Ami, and see her waving at me.
