CHAPTER 3

She bare the truth

'I'll see you real soon, Khelsey.'

I heavily signed after remembering what Michele said the day we dropped him off at his family's magnificent palazzo. A day had passed and I was lounging at the front porch of our house. Looking at the diamonds in the night sky as I inhaled the aroma of a hot cappuccino in my hands. Trying to relax my nerves from the stress caused by a certain man.

'Did he already know it?'

"Aaah! It's giving me an headache." I muttered, placing the cup at my side and my fingers rubbed circles on my temples.

"Hey sis!" My twin sister cheerfully called and sat beside me.

"Hey!" I greeted back.

We sat mute for I don't know how long, savoring the peaceful cold night because when the sun shines again means another day comes without our father to share moments and memories with.

"Do you remember what Dad told us on our fifteenth birthday?" I looked at her.

"That before any man could ask our hands for marriage, they should win his test first. All for because he only wanted the best for us. He wants to witness us walked down the aisle with the man we love, who will promise us happily ever after." She chuckled. "Dad surely gave Francis a hard time to get his approval."

"Francis?" I asked unfamiliar with the name.

"Francis is the man I will marry next month and I want you to be my maid of honor so you will come will me to the boutique tomorrow to get your measurements for your gown. This month was supposed to be my wedding but we decided to postpone it until next year because of Dad's condition. But before Dad died, he wished to keep our wedding next month. I told him that it was okay, that he didn't have to worry about it. But he said he doesn't want to hinder our happiness." Kyla dejectedly said.

"Oh no! I don't want to snatch away someone's role so I could he your maid of honor. It will really be rude of me." I cautiously refused.

"You don't have to worry, I'm sure Elizabeth will understand." She just waved my concern away and I groaned.

"Elizabeth...as in Elizabeth Morgan! Sorry for my words but is she one of those 'it bitches' ?" I asked incredulously.

"Hey, there are different types of bitches and she's not one of those 'slutty bitch'. She's more like 'tough-chick-bitch', so please lighten up on her. Who cares what she will feel at this occasion. It's my wedding and I can do whatever the hell I want. If she's really my friend she will understand that it will make me happy in one of the precious day of my life."

"Right! So why didn't I met your soon to be husband at the funeral?" I asked instead to change the topic.

"There is an emergency at his mobile telecommunication company in Dubai so he needed to be there. But he promised we will visit Dad's grave when he comes back. My man is really a great guy and he would love to finally meet you."

"Sure, anytime. He sound loaded." I remarked. "What happened to you and Terence?" Curiosity gets the best of me. I heard her took a sharp breathe.

"That bastard cheated on me when we entered college." She sighed, I was so naive when it comes to love back then that I had done everything for him to notice me. I changed and made myself popular so I could get his attention. I really loved him back then but he just easily trampled our three years of relationship.

"You mean relationshit, I'm glad you bumped your head on the wall and woke up from a nightmare. He doesn't deserve you, Kyla. You should be treasured, sis."
