Chapter 9: Unconventional Meeting
"We are getting married in Italy in three weeks. That is one week after Kyla and Francis' wedding, enough time to give way for them. Well, if I can have my way we can get married tomorrow. But I owe it to Jonathan to give his daughter and the mother of my child a proper wedding." He said when we where finally settled at his office.
"Are you kidding me? Three weeks is too soon! We can't get married that fast. I mean, I have a lot of things to take care of. My job, my house, the studio and Tyrone's schooling." I said while my head was spinning of all the things I have to do.
"That is why I hired Yvonnie to take care of those things. You just have to sort out the most important that you needed and your P.A will take care of the rest. As for your new studio I have the perfect place. I'll show it to you and when we come back it will be ready for your occupancy."
"When we comeback? Why? Where are we going?"
"I'm coming along with you in Los Angeles this weekend."
"You don't need to come along. I can handle things myself." I replied, astonished at how he is swiftly taking over my well established life.
"I don't have any doubt that you can't. After all you were able to live by yourself for ten years without me knowing the truth." He stated, looking at me with dark steely eyes. "But this time I intend to know. I want to know the environment and meet the people my son grew up with. I missed nine years of my son's life, at least this way I get the chance to know some part of it."
How am I going to deny him the chance to get to know his son when in the first place I was the one who took that right from him. I'm the guilty party, what gives me the right complain or stop him.
His eyes narrowed when he asked. "Are there things you're hiding more from me. That is why you don't want me to come along? A lover perhaps?"
"If I have what will you do then?" I asked back.
"If you have and your lover has been a father to my son first when it should be me. I won't hesitate to get rid of him from your and my son's life. I don't care if I'm being ruthless because this father had been deprived for many years. I don't like sharing what is mine."
He sat behind his large mahogany desk. Very compose, relax, a man who has the world on his hands and irritatingly handsome.
"You worry as if being married to me is the last thing you would ever commit in your life. What is the matter, Khelsey? I'm a good catch, no one will deny that."
"No one in their right mind will like to catch a shark who eats those who are vulnerable around him!" I retorted.
"Oh I will definitely eat you but you won't feel vulnerable that I can assure you. You will find being married to me is pleasurable." A danger glinted in his eyes causing heat to flood my face and to my embarrassment he chuckled.
Clearing my throat, I said. "You know what the real problem is? Your skyscraper ego, it needs intense shaking to collapse. You think you can always have your way? Well, you have another thing coming."
"Is that a challenge, cara? Because I tell you, I strive to succeed and I always win." He smugly returned.
Lifting my chin, I competitively replied. "Then brace yourself because I won't let you win this time."
"I doubt it, cara. Because I have already started." He returned with a full blown smile. So relax that he's not affected at all by my threat.
I am not sure if I should be mad or scared because he is arousing feelings in me that I'm not used to and he's confusing the hell out of me. Sanity is fading and I might be out of my mind soon due to this sexual tension that wasn't there before.
