             The next few days were normal. Augustus and I were texting nonstop I was thinking about it just as my phone went off. It was Augustus!

I smile and type my reply
Hey!:)
he types a while and his message lights my whole day up.
I'm waiting in your driveway, we are gonna go do something, just you and I:)
I scream inside, I'm in my pajamas! What am I gonna wear. I go through my closet and find something simple, but pleasing. I hope he likes the way I look. I brush through my hair violently and and make my way into the bathroom. I brush my teeth and wash my face. I run downstairs and run past my mom, who's sitting in the kitchen.
"Hazel? Where are you going?" She asks.
"out with Gus!" I say, I kiss her on the cheek and I'm out the door. I see his face light up through the pickup truck windshield. He gets out of the car and runs to me. Embracing me in a tight hug.
"I've missed you" he says. I nestle my head in his neck.
"I've missed you more." I say. After a few more moments he lets go of me and goes to the passengers seat and opens the door for me. I smile and get in. He runs around and gets into the car.
"Where are we going?" I ask eagerly.
"We are going on a picnic in Metro Park." He says. His hand glides on the steering wheel. He moves his other hand into my thigh. My heart drops and I feel my cheeks heat up. I start blushing and smile. We talk a little more on the short ride to the park. When we arrive he opens the door and let's me out. We look around for the perfect spot to sit. When we find a nice patch of grass with no people around we walk to it and lay down the large pink blanket. He sets down the basket and we start eating the sandwiches and drinks he packed us. The food is surprisingly delicious. We talk a little about everything. When we get on the topic of books I mention my favorite novel An Imperial Affliction. When I tell him the plot he seems Interested. When we are done eating we lay down and watch the clouds. This date is so cliche, I feel like I'm in a Julia rivers movie. But I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else. We both just look at the white puffy balls in the sky. He turns to me while his head is still laying down. I look over at him. We stare at each other for a few moments and we both lean up. He brushes the hair out of my face and leans in close to me. I wait for his lips to touch mine. I close my eyes. That's when my phone rings. He stops abruptly and leans back. I grasp my phone from my pocket.
"Mom I'm with gus." I say annoyed.
"Haze, it's your father. He's been in an accident." She says. My stomach falls.
"he's in critical condition"
