Chapter Two: Star Meets Star

______It was the first day of school. As Kirian and the twins walked through the door, a boy with spiky white hair barreled into Kirian, making him fall.
______"Hey! Watch where you-" Kirian stopped, seeing the kid more closely. He noticed that the hair was pulled back in a headband with the word SOUL written on it. He wore long red pants and a yellow athletic jacket. Is that..? Kirian wondered to himself. Then the kid grinned at him, and he saw the spiky teeth and red eyes. It is..!
______"Sorry, man. Guess I got a little carried away there. Let me help you up." The kid offered Kirian his hand as someone down the hall yelled "SOUL!!!!" The kid and Kirian both looked in the direction the shout came from just as a girl came into view, followed by a boy with blue hair. The girl wore a typical schoolgirl's outfit, but with a black overcoat, white gloves, and high boots. Behind her long gray hair, her sharp green eyes shone angrily.
______The kid gulped. "Uh oh. Looks like she caught me. Sorry, kid. Gotta run." To the girl he yelled "Not cool, Maka!" Kirian watched in amazement as Soul "Soul Eater" Evans grinned once more at him and took off down the hall to join Maka Albarn. As the trio turned to leave, Kirian noticed a mark on the shoulder of the blue-haired boy.
______"Wait! What's that on your shoulder?" The blue haired boy turned to look at Kirian as he jogged over to the group. Kirian looked at his shoulder, then stared the kid in the face. The kid had bright blue, spiky hair and a black, sleeveless leather jacket that showed off his arms. He wore black fingerless gloves.
______"What's up kid? Do I have something in my teeth? Oh I know! You want my autograph!"
______Soul shoved him, laughing. "Yeah right, Black Star! He's probably just wondering what the hell he's looking at!"
______Black Star..? Could it be? Kirian pulled the neck of his jacket down to reveal his own star.
______Black Star stared at it for a second. "Where did you get that..?"
______Kirian watched his reaction. "I've had it since I was born. I'm like you. I'm a member of the Star Clan."
______At that moment, a tall girl with long black hair ran up to Black Star. She wore a white, low-cut dress and long black socks and gloves. "There you are, Black Star! I've been looking all over for you! We're gonna be late for- wait, what are you guys staring at?" She turned to look and gasped. "Star, I thought you were the last..?"
______"I thought so too, Tsubaki. This is just great! How am I gonna be a star when I have to share the stage? Me, the guy who's gonna surpass God!" Black Star crossed his arms. "So what's your name kid? And where have you been?"
______"My name is Kirian, and these are my partners Lucien and Lucille. Could you show us where Sid's class is? We will fill you in on the way."
______Soul piped up, saying, "Of course. We were just headed there!" Maka grumbled, "Some of us were... Others were trying to skip!" Soul pretended not to hear her. "Right this way, man."
______When they got to class, Kirian and the twins sat by Soul and a kid who had pitch-black hair, except for three white stripes on the left side of his head. He wore a standard black suit with white rectangles placed in a manner that was completely symmetrical. His undershirt was a formal white dress shirt, and a metallic skull rested under his collar.
______"Hey Soul? Who's that?" Kirian pointed at the kid. Soul looked over and grinned.
______"Oh him? He's no-one. Just Death's son, Death the Kid."
______Kid looked over, finally noticing the newcomer. "Hello nice to me- YOUR TIE IS CROOKED!"
______Kirian jumped and Soul chuckled. "He's obsessed with symmetry. You may wanna fix that, or he's gonna have a stroke. Here, let me help." Soul straightened Kirian's tie and Kid calmed down.
______At that moment, a blue-skinned zombie with a hole through his forehead entered the classroom. The zombie cleared his throat. "All right class! We have a new member today. Let's make sure he feels welcome, because that's the kind of man I was!" The zombie, Sid Barrett, motioned for Kirian to come to the front of the class.
______The whole class watched as Kirian, Lucien, and Lucille walked timidly to the front. "H-hello. My name is Kirian Tenegawa, and these are my partners, Lucien and Lucille."
______Sid clapped once. "Lucien, Lucille, would the two of you mind transforming for us?"
______"Not at all, sir." Lucien replied. The twins looked at one another, then at Kirian. The three of them nodded and the twins flipped into the air, spinning. A split second later, two blades fell towards Kirian, who deftly caught them and spun into a counter position, blades crossed in front of him. The students all gasped and whispered amongst themselves.
______Sid grinned. "A katana, huh? Don't see many of those around here. In fact, the only one we've had in awhile is Tsubaki, Black Star's partner. Class, who among you can explain what the katana is?"
______A boy with a mostly bald head and weird tufts of hair by his ears and wearing strange glasses raised his hand. Maka muttered, "Show off..." And he glared at her. Sid sighed. "Yes, Ox? Care to educate the rest of the class?"
______Ox Ford cleared his throat. "Well, the katana is a weapon indigenous to the region we live in, which was called Japan in ancient times. The blade is usually three feet long, straight, and slender, meant more for slashing than stabbing. Originally used by samurai in ancient Japan-"
______"That's quite enough, Ox, thank you." Sid looked at Kirian and grinned. "Welcome to the academy, Kirian."
______Kirian bowed respectfully to Sid and returned to his seat. He turned to Kid. "So Kid, where's your partner?"
______Kid just waved his hand. "Oh, they're out there somewhere. They don't do well in school, I'm afraid. But they are quite skilled in combat."
______"Wait, they? You mean you have multiple, like I do?" Kirian asked.
______"Yeah, I have two. Twins, actually. Liz and Patty Thompson. They're twin pistols."
