Caiden's father took a moment to apprehend of what was happening. He grabbed her hand and began leading Caiden to the everlasting staircase. Caiden's lungs began to overflow with smoke as it enclosed her, the world consumed her. She still was clueless of what was happening. What was the loud explosion? Where is all this fire and smoke coming from? All of these questions began to flood Caiden's mind as she was running down the long stairs. Thankfully, her father was only on floor five.
As they continued to run, Caiden's father fell face first on the cold, hard floor.
"Dad! Dad!" Caiden screamed with fear ringing through her voice. She was still holding his hand tightly.
"Go, Caiden. Go on without me," Caiden's father pleaded.
"I can't leave you here! Come on, get up! Why can't you get up?!" tears made shrieks on Caiden's filthy face.
"When I let go out your hand, run out of the building as fast as your legs will carry you," Caiden sobbed as he let go of her hand and pushed her away. She ran fast, but with a struggle. As she approached the door, she collapsed and saw only blackness.
Caiden felt strong arms rise her from the ground. She felt like a nothing. Didn't feel or hear anything.
Nothing would ever be the same for her family again..........
