Gone Through Life

Chapter 2: Years to Come

Years had gone by and now Caiden was three and doing very well. Jacob is now thirteen, Cory is now eleven, and Caleb is now ten today. It is his birthday and the whole family has planned to go on vacation to the place where dreams come true only because their grandparents asked them to go with them, but they insisted on paying. They are all extremely excited and ready to take on the heat of Florida while they are at Disney World riding all the daredevil rides. Except for Caiden, she plans to ride the flying ducks, elephants, and any other ride similar to those.

Since they were leaving tomorrow, the entire family was in a rush to get everything packed, and since they were staying for an entire week, it took a while. Jacob got his suitcase packed and then offered to help get Caiden's packed while the others got the medical supplies and some other little items.

"Wow, Caiden, you have the smallest suitcase and clothes. Do you think I can borrow these little sandals one day?" Jacob teased. Without knowing he was joking, Caiden pushed the small shoes to Jacob and gave a sweet little smile. Jacob just laughed.

"Thank you Caiden but I think they would look much better on you," Jacob suggested. After he got her packed up, he took his and her suitcase to their small living space. He sat in a chair with Caiden on his lap and reached far in his pocket feeling for something. Then, he pulled out a little stuffed doll and handed it to Caiden with a little smile. Caiden laughed because when he smiled his dimples popped out. His brown hair swept across his face right above his dark brown eyes.

"It is for you. I got it because it looks like you with it's strawberry blond hair, rosy cheeks, the freckles, and and the cute little dress," Jacob stated. Caiden smiled and said "Thank you." Finally, it was time to go to sleep and await what will happen tomorrow. Jacob took Caiden and placed her in her soft bed and then placed himself in his soft bed. They both fell fast asleep. In the middle of the night, Jacob was awaken by a little tug and shake from Caiden. She was almost in tears when he opened his sleepy eyes.

"I had a nightmare 'bout bad thing," Caiden mumbled in toddler slang, " me want sleep with you please." Jacob undone the tightly tucked cover and motioned for her to climb in. She quickly made her self at home in her new bed with her big brother. The next morning, Jacob woke up and carefully woke up Caiden because her arm was right on top of his face.

"Caiden, Caiden.............it's time to get up...we have to go to Disney World Grandpa and Grandma is picking us up soon," Jacob spoke softly. After awhile, Caiden finally opened her big, blue, sleepy eyes that stared strait at Jacob like he took away her favorite toy. He let her go back to sleep while he got dressed, then managed to get her up again to get her dressed. After she was ready to go, Jacob took her in his hands and carried her in the living area and sat her down next to him. Soon after, the others came and sat with them to wait for their grandparents to pick them up to go to Disney World.

Cory and Caleb could not sit still because they were filled with excitement about going to a theme park for the first time in their lives. When Jacob saw Caiden's sad face, he couldn't contain his laughter.

"Mom,"Jacob called out," look," as he moved his head toward Caiden. His mother looked very confused at her face expression because she thought she would be enthusiastic about taking this little trip. Then it hit her like lightning that she probably didn't understand what they were doing.

"Caiden, why are you so sad?" Mrs. McGrady asked her three year old girl.
"I don't want to move to Florida. Me like here at home," Caiden said unenthusiastically.
"Honey, we aren't moving to Florida. We are just taking a little, fun trip to a fun park there to ride rides, but only for a week. I promise we are coming home right after," Mrs. McGrady explained to Caiden. Caiden got a smile placed on her face when she received the news that they were coming home. After a couple of more minutes of waiting, their grandparents finally arrived. They all raced for the car so they could leave for Disney World and have the best time of their lives.
