Chapter 2The Next day I woke up and sat on my bed and just embraced the morning, like I usually do. After five minutes of that I got out of bed and started my day off, brushing my teeth and taking a cold shower. Cold water is better for the skin. I picked out my clothes for the day, put them on and walked downstairs.
Nathan was making toast when I came into the kitchen "Morning beautiful" he greeted, giving a small peck on the cheek. "Good morning" I smiled.
I took a seat on the Island waiting for him to finish making breakfast, He didn't really mind this because he knows I'm not one for cooking, I can't even toast bread properly.
Nathan and I have been going out for 2 years and 4 months now. He was my chemistry lab partner in the 10th grade. If one of us failed the class, the both of us did. I was terrible at chemistry, so Nathan agreed to tutor me. We spent a lot of time together because of this. Thanks to him I aced my finals, to celebrate he asked me out. I said yes.
Nathan was the dream guy for any girl. He was HOT - H to T, he was on the swim team, the basketball team, and the chess club, he is a straight-A student, and a total sweetheart. This is the image that everybody sees, it's what I thought I was in for when I started dating the guy, it's the kind of person Nathan wants to be. He thankful that it's the only thing people see.
Nathan Craig, lives with his grandmother. His parents got divorced when he was 6. After the divorce his Father moved to England to try to sell his books there and his mother is currently in India, she's a travel critic. His Maternal Grandmother took him in after the divorce and he's been living there ever since. He really loves his grandmother for all that she's done for her and want to stay with her forever, but he also wished his parents would be there with him. That's what he really wants, for his parents to be there to see his success, to see his accomplishments, that is the reason he does what he does.
I happen to be his first girlfriend, and I was really surprised to hear that when he told me because he does not look like the type of guy who starting dating when he was a junior. He said that he never really thought of girls because he was thinking about school all the time, I needed my parents back more than anything, plus none of the girls seemed like 'girlfriend material', but then I met you, he said.
"Hey, Earth to Clair" Nate waved a hand in front of my face, I pushed it away giggling. "What were you thinking about?" "You" I said, looking into his chocolate brown eyes. I loved that spark that he had in his eyes. He could do anything and he wanted to everything.
We ate our toasts making small talk here and there, cleared the table and started on our way to the hospital.
"Don't you have to go get your books before going to school?" I asked Nathan, while Katy Perry was playing on the radio"I think I'm going to stay with you today" he said, taking my hand in his "Ooh... Nate, you don't have to. I'll be fine, you can't miss school" I said"What's one day? I want to stay with you" he said, bringing my hand up to his lips and kissing it ever so lightly.
I am lucky I have him, really. His parents are missing out on a LOT. He's always been there when I've needed him.
Last year I had a severe panic attack after a car almost crashed into mine. It was Nathan who carried me to the hospital. For those two months, he practically lived in that hospital with me. He came straight to the hospital after school, did his homework and gave me briefs on all the classes, helped me with my homework, went back home then came back to the hospital before school, had breakfast with me and left for school. Like I said, I am REALLY lucky to have him in my life. But sometimes I feel like he doesn't get back what he gives.
After Nathan parks the car in the parking lot, we walk into the cream painted building. Earlier this morning my father texted me the number of the room my mother had been moved to, so we started looking for Room No.309
When we found the room, I started walking fasted and I practically jogged to Room No.309
"MOM!" I called as I saw her in the hospital bed, her leg had been placed slightly elevated and covered with a cast. She looked pale and tired. I pulled her into a hug, she hugged me back. "Oh Clair, honey I'm so sorry" she said, her voice low. "Its okay mom, what happened has happened, it's all in the past" I said, pulling away from the hug and giving her a reassuring smile. "I love you so much honey" she said, giving my hand a slight squeeze. "That's why is hurts me to say that I've been hiding something from you" she takes a deep breath.
I felt a body hovering over me so I looked up, "I'll be outside with your father okay?" Nathan asks. I nod. He gives me a peck on my forehead and smiles at my mother and leaves.
