"Hey Eponine, it's time to get up" Courfeyrac gently said as he shook me awake lightly; I was glad he was here, I feel safe around him. "Mademoiselle  why did you spend the night here?" Unlike Courfeyrac, I hated seeing Enjolras, he is to focused and has no personality. "Leave her alone Enjolras" Courfeyrac retorted harshly. I started to feel uncomfortable in this situation; the boys were arguing about my life without allowing me to explain myself. Courfeyrac could sense my uneasiness, so he turned to me and said "Come on Eponine lets go get you cleaned up." He supported most of my weight as he walked me to a bar and sat me on the counter. He lightly washed all the blood and dirt from my arms, legs, and face; he then bandaged my major wounds. By the time Courfeyrac was finished the majority of my body was covered in white. After ten minutes of silence, he spoke up, " How did this happen Ep, I've never seen so many injuries on one girl and I can tell you lost a good amount of blood, you're so pale" I could hear the emotion in his voice; I never noticed how much Courfeyrac cared for me. I trusted him, so I told him the truth. I sighed and began, "you know that I made Gavroche run away from our parents right?" He nodded, "Well this is the reason why" I said laughing sarcastically with tears in my eyes. He looked at me flabbergasted,  "you're telling me that your own family did this to you?" I nodded and began crying harder; "for ten years." I couldn't hold it together anymore' I broke down in Courfeyrac's arms sobbing at the memories of my past.  He grabbed my shoulders and forced me to look at him. "I'm not letting you go back there." I looked away, "I have nowhere else to go" I said barely over a whisper. Then Courfeyrac did something that I never would have imagined. He kissed me. "You don't deserve to be treated so ill by your parents with them beating you and Marius ignoring your affections" He turned and began to leave, but I stopped him with my words. "Courfeyrac, does this mean we are courting?" He smiled and responded " is that what you want?" I nodded grinning like a little girl. "Then yes we are courting" he said smiling. I looked at the clock, seeing how late it was; "I should probably be getting home" I sighed trying to get up and nearly falling over Courfeyrac rushed to my side and lifted me in his arms. "Did you really think I was going to let you go back there?" he asked kissing my head. With that he kissed my head and carried me to his apartment.
