How do you know you're in love? Does your heart increase it's velocity? Do goosebumps raise on your smooth skin? Or do you just know - you look at someone and a wave of pure joy rushes through you from head to toe - you just know. Love simply can't be explained...it just happens.
I never thought a day would come where I had no idea what I was writing down. These words put together in a sentence aren't comprehending in my brain.
I shut my journal. Memories kept invading my mind of the night Harry and I finally had some sparks fly. I couldn't think straight.
Danica was having a small party - what a surprise, it's what she does best. She specifically told me to 'dress to impress', which I was intending to do just in case Harry were to show up.
Later in the day, my eye brows were filled in, my winged eyeliner was sharp enough to kill a man, and I felt good about myself. My black, skin tight dress brought out the best in me, and my heels made my feet ache. I took a straightener to my already damaged, bleach hair, leaving it down to touch my back through the open back of my black dress.
I caught a taxi over to Danica's, since my heels were already killing me.
The windows showed the faded lights from inside the apartment, and bodies were seen walking around. I let myself in, since it was only Danica we're talking about. I made my way into the living room, since my best friend always seemed to be the center of the party and everyone was packed into the room.
Danica was already drunk, and talking to a group of people. She quickly noticed my presence.
"Brin!" She hugged me, almost spilling the dark wine onto the hardwood flooring. "Meet my friends, Elena, Ryan, and Jessie."
Elena and Ryan were identical twins. Long black hair suited both of their dark skin, Elena having a loose curl while Ryan had her's pin straight; they were clearly annoyed with people getting their names mixed up. Midnight eyes were framed with dark lashes. They were stunning.
Jessie, on the other hand, was the only guy in the small group. A bud light was gripped by his right hand. His hair was nearly black, but the light showed that it was in fact a dark chocolate brown. His green eyes stuck out against his tanned skin, which showed he wasn't native to New York.
"This is my best friend, Brin." Danica introduced me to the group.
Elena and Ryan were friendly, hugging me and smiling warmly. I pulled away, not expecting anyone else to pull me into their arms, but I was wrong. Jessey's arms pulled me in playfully, mocking Elena and Ryan. I hugged back, laughing until he let me go.
I looked to Danica, who was smiling and low-key winking at me. I shook my head.
"Well, I'm off to fill my wine glass. Anyone want to join?" Danica held up her now empty glass. Elena and Ryan followed her, leaving me and Jessey alone.
"It's nice to meet you, Brin. I've heard a lot about you." He smiled, his hair falling into his eyes as his head moved.
I raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? I hope it was good stuff."
He chuckled, sipping his beer. "Massey is my best friend, and yes, it was all good."
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in. Jessey was attractive in every single way, and his skin didn't hold any tattoos and his body didn't have any piercings. He was something I usually wouldn't go for.
I felt a cold hand make contact with the skin of my lower back, making me turn around to see who it was. It was indeed Harry, who was dressed in skinny jeans and a designer shirt.
