A/N:

This is dedicated to closets - thank you for making my day with your comment ❤️ And also a big thank you to all of you for 5K reads 💋 Are we in the mood for a part three? x

After a rather rough first day, since I found out that I had flirted with my boss before knowing her, I took the necessary steps and buried myself deep in my work for the first few weeks. This was not something out of character for me, since I always gave my best but I might have purposely worked overtime on exactly the days where I knew that Elle, or Ms. Stark, was in the office in hopes of avoiding her. This had been going perfectly almost making me wonder when it was all going to go wrong. I knew I couldn't avoid her until the end of time.

I sighed stretching my stiff limbs before deciding to take a little break from work and go fetch myself a cup of coffee from the cafe downstairs in the work building. On the way down I was debating in my head whether I should get my usual order or try something new today. Their menu was extensive and had lots to offer.

In the end, I went with my usual order playing it safe as I usually do. After the train I usually take was out of order this morning and me making it to work late, I knew that taking another chance today would throw me off balance too much. I already had a headache from just the stress this morning.

Back in my office, I continued working on the financial reports on my desk. Once I finally finished those I looked at the clock on the right to my desk.

3:02 PM

How was it only three yet? I could've sworn that finishing the reports took me longer than that. I went ahead and checked the time on my phone:

5:32 PM

That sounded more like it. I still had some time left until I could clock out which meant that I might as well get started on another stack of papers all filled with numbers and data I needed to examine.

Time flew by me as I was diligently working through all the papers wanting to play it safe and finish them now instead of continuing tomorrow and losing my flow. When I checked my phone again to look at the time I saw that it was way past 8 PM. I had never stayed this long in the office. I also saw two missed calls from Anna. I made a mental note to call her back once I was in my car and on the way home.

Gathering my bag and coat I headed toward the lifts to exit the building. When I arrived there was already someone else waiting and of course, it was no other than Elle Stark.

Everything in me screamed to just leave and avoid her for a little longer but I knew that it wasn't possible anymore since she had already heard my heels clicking against the polished floor.

Therefore I had to come to a halt next to her. "Good evening, Miss," I quietly said being as polite as I possibly could while trying not to A check her out or B let my mind wander to that one night a few nights ago when I didn't know who she was yet and shamelessly flirted with her (and also let my ego be bruised by her while playing a game of pool).

"Ms. Gray," she acknowledged me with a curt nod, "What are you doing here at this late hour?" She inquired to know. I had to think about how I wanted this conversation to play out. We would probably keep conversing until we separated ways downstairs after getting off of the lift. Quickly I made up a game plan in my head. "I was just finishing up another stack of reports and time just flew by me. What about you?" I returned the question. Wait, was it even appropriate to ask that? I mean I didn't know where I stood with this woman. Yes, she was my boss but we had not talked since my first day here.

"I just concluded my final business for today just like you," she briefly answered. "Good to hear," I responded trying to still be polite and not seem as awkward as I was feeling.
