{Chapter 40}

Over the arena speakers Dana’s voice rang out “The one you are all here to see. Your Welterweight Champion! Beckham ‘knockout’ Swan!” The crowd exploded hearing the name of their champion. Masvidal had gone first so he was now over to the side waiting for Beckham to get weighed. It went quickly. Of course he easily passed the weigh-in. The press got plenty of pictures for their upcoming articles but little did they know what they were fixing to catch. After stepping back off the scale, Beckham stepped closer almost toe to toe with Masvidal, Dana White with his arms pressed against each of the men’s chests to try keeping them separate. That turns out not to work since Masvidal, out of nowhere, tries to punch Beckham. Beckham luckily saw that the attempted punch was coming and dodged out of the way right before the fist could land. Beckham then stood back up, delivering a clean punch that knocked Masvidal back almost a foot. Dana, along with some members of security, took the opportunity and stepped between the two. All of this caused a massive commotion on stage with everyone trying to get involved to split up the two fighters. After a few minutes both fighters were taken off the stage one at a time with the event over, at least for Beckham and Jorge’s part. The entire event ended about ten minutes after everyone was moved to the back. Not long after that Beckham, Alec, and Jane left the stadium with Beckham’s manager and driver while the rest of the team went in a different vehicle back to their cars once everyone said their goodbyes for the night.

During the car ride both Alec and Jane did a look over at Beckham for injuries. It seemed that he had no new bruising or marks from the blindsided attack that took place. It took a little longer to leave the area than it was to get to the stadium due to fans and other members of the public being out on the streets now being released. The group made it back to Beckham’s house on the outskirts of Vegas. As Beckham, Alec, and Jane got out of the blacked out suv David, Beckham’s manager, made sure that Beckham remembered they would pick him up tomorrow evening at six PM so they could arrive at the stadium between seven-eight o'clock. Beckham gave him a thumbs up as he followed the twins to the front door.

Once inside all three took a breath. The day was long and filled with people always surrounding the three mates, hardly left alone since they had left the house almost twelve hours before. Beckham didn’t feel like cooking so he ordered himself dinner to be delivered after they all changed their clothes. Alec and Jane waited until he was done on the phone ordering to get close to their older mate. Beckham of course let them get close, wanting them as close as possible after such a long day. The three sat on the couch picking out a movie to watch together while waiting for Beckham’s food to arrive. It didn’t take long to agree on a movie. Beckham’s food arrived a few minutes into the movie so he spent the majority of the time shoving the food in his mouth, hungry from having to be careful of food for almost a week and finally being able to have his guilty pleasure, Zaxby’s, extra Zax sauce on the side of course.

After the movie Beckham threw away the trash then made his way up the stairs to the couple’s bedroom. Alec and Jane had gone up a few minutes before Beckham. The three ended up talking for a few hours before heading to bed. Alec tried to initiate intimate time but Beckam had to tell him and then Jane no because the fight was tomorrow and it could affect him in the octagon. They were all wanting to continue but knew that what Beckham had said was true. They decided to cuddle up together, Beckham making sure to have an arm around each of his mates, and went to sleep. Alec and Jane stayed up a bit longer than Beckham. Both wanted to support Beckham, but they were worried about his fight the next night. Neither wanted to see him get hurt. The two vampires spoke quietly back and forth for a little longer before laying their heads on Beckham’s chest to get a few hours of sleep before the kings, Demitri, and Felix would arrive.
