{Chapter 41}

Jane and Alec were up the next morning at 4:30 to let the kings, Felix, and Demetri into Beckham’s house. Beckham on the other hand was still asleep in his bed so he could get plenty of rest for his fight tonight. While Beckham slept all four of the elite guards and three kings sat down in the living room to make sure everyone was up to date. The kings sent a lower level guard to watch the Cullen coven and Isabella to make sure they stayed away.

Beckham ended up sleeping until eight AM. When he woke up he went downstairs in only a pair of shorts to greet everyone. He acted so naturally none of them noticed that he forgot they would be there when he woke up. Felix, Demetri, and the kings were happy to see Beckham, all of them either shaking hands or hugging. The group of vampires followed Beckham into the kitchen. Felix and Demetri sat down at the long dining room table while the kings sat at the bar and Jane and Alec sat on top of the island counter. Nobody else wanted food so Beckham only made himself a filling plate of food to help him gain a little of his weight back before tonight. Everyone continued talking and catching up in the kitchen while Beckham ate.

After Beckham had finished eating everyone went to the living room. Beckham turned on espn, a few took out their phones, and Marcus pulled a book out of nowhere. The group of adults went on like this for a few hours, enjoying the calm quiet morning before they had the event that night.

At one point Beckham’s phone started ringing with a call from his manager David. He let Beckham know that they were going to pick him up that evening at six instead of eight like originally planned. Beckham okayed the change and asked if the reserved seats he requested were done. David told him that everything was set up. The call ended soon after that.

Alec and Jane’s mood changed after the call. Beckham noticed it slowly. At first they were being really quiet and he didn’t pay much mind to them as he was talking with Demetri and Felix. It was when they both kept trying to pull him back to fully sit on the couch, wrapped themselves completely around his torso restricting his movements and kept staring at each other with their heads on either one of his pecs.

When Beckham did finally realize what was going on he looked around at everyone else thinking maybe he would figure it out from them. Felix and Demetri made eye contact but they shrugged their shoulders, no help. Aro looked like he knew but still turned his head away to not give Beckham an answer. Caius was on his phone not paying attention so he wasn’t any help either. Beckham’s last hope was Marcus. Beckham took a deep breath before turning his head to look at Marcus. Weirdly enough Marcus had already closed his book, put it down on his lap, and was looking back at Beckham like he had been waiting like a little kid waiting for his turn.

Beckham gave the king a raised eyebrow in a way of asking if he knew the answer to what was wrong with Alec and Jane. Marcus nodded his head slowly up and down showing he knew what was going on. Beckham looked at him with large eyes and mouthed “Well??” Marcus used the notebook on the coffee table and started writing. Beckham tried to relax his body a little so the twins were comfortable while he awaited the king’s answer.

After a few short minutes Marcus was done. He turned the page towards Beckham. There he saw his answer. It was something so obvious that Beckham honestly felt stupid for not putting it together. The page had two words; “Tonight’s fights.” As time went by they were getting more anxious and trying to ground each other without letting him know. After he finished reading what Marcus wrote he just nodded his head in understanding. Now that Beckham knows what's going on he needs to figure out what to do to make it better.

Beckham thought for a while silently until he came to a realization. Nothing he could say would make it better. He couldn’t promise nothing was going to happen. It wouldn't mean anything since no matter what he was still going to fight. Beckham needed to remind himself that they were still new to this lifestyle.The only thing Beckham could think to do is hold them close and just love them through the feelings silently.
