I woke up,it was 4:am in the morning. It felt .... weird, to be honest after what I witnessed, I was all numb.
In life all of us has imagined something like that to happen to us one day, to be a witness or to be the main character who saw something shady but who thought it would become real for me... So real that it would scare me.
I was up since 4 and it was already 11:00 now.
Finally forcing my self from bed, I went to the small kitchen I had to make something. And unfortunately I was out of groceries yet again...
Outside, the weather looked gloomy, almost as if warning me to stay in. But me being me decided to get a burger.
I got ready and picked my bike from the foot path where I parked it.
One thing about my neighborhood was it was really safe and you don't have to worry about theft.
So that's what I did,not caring to change, I got out and went to pick my bike up.
I rode to the nearby burger point and got one big pack of deal for my self.
The bag smelled like heaven and happily I smiled at the nice waitress while handing the cash and thanking her.
It was something good after yesterday to happen. It was so creepy with amount of happiness I could have just by having good food.
"Enjoying your day?' a voice came from behind me. And that's the last thing I wanted, human interaction.
I turned around, a little startled at the stranger's voice.
As I looked up to see his face, there stood a nice looking boy may be two or three years older than me,brown hair,grey eyes, tall and just.. perfect.
His smile made me uneasy, not in a good sense rather because I didn't like to interact with boys and he was not going to be different story.
"Ugh... I think I startled you" he smiled. Nervous and scratched his back of his head.
" No.. actually I wasn't paying attention " I chuckled and shrugged.
"Oh yes! Um .. mind if we talk? Actually new to this town and I am starting college after vacation here so.. some advice will really help " he expectantly looked at me.
" Umm actually I am going out of town this evening otherwise I would have but you can asked jolly here , she is also a first-year " I tried to escape for him by pushing the poor girl at the counter whom I knew from college.
" Aha.. right but-
"Okay bye!! " I said and literally ran out of there.
Thank God I left otherwise I couldn't survive another tourist aka new student(feel the sarcasm).
Reaching home, I ate everything like a hungry beast. Even the ketchup didn't last. I knew what I was doing. It was stress eating but didn't want to rethink the cause of it.
That day I watched every movie I could think of sad, happy, comedy everything that could lift my mind and could make me sleep and after hours I succeeded.
Ring ringggggg
I looked for my phone with my eyes close and picked it up
"Yes_
" Lady buggggg, where are you!!!! Emma shouted from the other side.
"Emma I was sleeping!!!" I rolled my eyes.
"Oh you won't be after hearing this!" Her smirk could be felt through her voice.
"What is it now !¿?? " I asked.
" Rich guy,grey eyes tall brown hair, saw him at the cafe this morning" she giggled like a teenager.
"Plezzzzz leave me alone or better go after him" I taunted.
"Oh I will bug but won't you help me" she made that baby sound again that got us in trouble so many times since our childhood.
"No and bye" I cut the call and slept.
After an hour or so I was with my not so lovely best friend at the famous inn of our town.
"You know I love you right??" She threw her fake puppy eyes at me yet again.
"Shut up before I shove that whole pumpkin pie in your face!" I said throwing daggers at her.
"You are no fun !" She screeched but all of a sudden her eyes widened and I knew her knew prey walked in.
"He's here!!!!!!" She jumped up and down.
"He won't be soon if you don't stop acting like a cat in heat" I rolled her eyes and she hit me with her bag on my head.
" Stay here and don't looked there your eyes do wonders on boys I don't want you near him until I cast me spell" she looked at me, pleadingly.
..." And I thought I had a good friend but nevermind go on " I laughed and rolled my eyes, chucking the last bit of orange juice.
"Watch and learn " she smirked and went towards the boy whose back faced us.
She started talking to him and after sometime I zoomed out then and started thinking about last night.
The girl, those men, the fire..
"Fire!!!! I heard a hushed voice in distance.
"Fire!!! Get out of there girl!!!!!" Someone screamed again but i thought it was me screaming looking at the burning girl from last night.
All of sudden someone grabbed me and pulled me out of my seat.
My trance broke and I looked around.
"Emma...." I looked at my friend who was cried in a boy's arm, the same boy I met this morning..
She came immediately next to me and hugged me .
" I thought you were hurt !" She cried and held me tight.
"Why did you zoned out girl??!! Could have get your self killed you know!!??" The old inn owner said.
After getting up from the floor, which I don't remember falling on, I asked Emma what happened.
" A gas cylinder at bbq station exploded!! I thought you died but then I saw you but you were staring blankly!! What in the world wer eyou doing " she screamed,her eyes widened and red with tears.
" I didn't know ...- " "it happens , may be you went in shock. Its alright, it's good you are fine now" the boy smiled genuinely.
"You..." "We met at the burger place remember? Name's Mathew " he introduced and shaked my hand.
"He helped me a lot you know,I was so sad and he just was very nice and even offered me his hanky" Emma exclaimed, I could literally saw hearts popping out of her eyes.
"Ummm..yeah so... thanks for the help Mathew, but I think I should rest .."
-" but you were-" Emma grabbed my hand.."- ughhh!!!!" The hand she grabbed burnt so bad but I got to k kw it when she touched and I kid you not it hurt like hell.
"Oh. My I am sorry bug' she worriedly looked at my hand.
"Let's get you fixed " she tried taking me with her towards her car.
" No .. I will be fine." I tried to reason.
"Are you mad! It's second degree burn" she exclaimed but I didn't wanna go other than my house.
"Let us take you to the hospital a d then you can rest and in between you can tell me your name too" Mathew smiled.
"Oh.. I didn't tell you my name, sorry My name is Saphrine " I smiled at him.
He seemed like a good person, some one Emma would date tbh.
"Now that we are friends let's go to the hospital shall we!!" Emma said with a ring in her tone.
"Alright but plz don't scream!!" I rolled my eyes and went towards her car,not wanting to be a bone between them.
