Ring ring ringggggg
My phone rang yet again for the thousandth time.
"Who is it now" I asked no one as I looked at the unknown number.
Thinking it may be someone important I picked it.
"Hello! Thank Goodness you picked up!" someone with a heavy cowboy accent said from the other side.
"Hey... Do I know you?" I asked
"Are you lady bug???" The man asked rather embarrassed.
"Yes.." I replied in the same way.
"Okay so your friend Emma... she..
He started but i cut him off.
"What about her!?is she fine???"I questioned worriedly.
I swear to God if that girls has put herself in trouble im gonna kill her.
"Actually.. she..and her friend had an accident and they both are in serious condition." The man announced.
God no plz.
"Im coming text me the location" I cutt the call and went for my coat.
In about an hour I was at the hospital with both their parents.
Mr and Mrs ticker were crying for their daughter as she was their only child while Mathews dad kept updating his mother on the phone.
Apparently Mathew really was some big shot's only son,proven by the media I came across while coming here.
"Hey" I greeted Emma's mum.
"Saph dear why were you not with her today" she asked with tearful eyes.
Now you see what I am talking about?
Em and me never went anywhere without each other but today was a diff story.
"I..had some homework to do" I gave a lame excuse.
"Yes.. yes.. I m sorry you know I am not implying anything,just that you never leave her alone ever and when you did this happened and I.... Am sorry"she was rambling alot and it hurt seeing her like this.
"It's okay,you can ask me anything" I grabbed her hand and gave her a squeeze.
All of a sudden the doctor came.
"You are the attendees?" He questioned.
After they nodded, he began giving us all the info.
"Well the girl is very serious,the car she drove had failed brakes and she crashed on a big mountain rock,the boy fell trying to stop her from falling but they both couldn't balance their weight at the edge and fell down the hill."
"Luckily she had an intact blood supply that compensated for the brain injury, but we will need o induce coma,otherwise she won't make it."
He ended and now we were all crying all over again.
"What about my boy.." Mathews dad asked quietly staring at the floor.
"He is in coma, won't say much but you need to pray for him.... Alot" the doctor couldn't hide the sad expression he had.
"It's all because of your daughter..." Mathews dad whispered but Mr ticker heard it.
"What did you say?" He came at him like a wounded tiger.
"I SAID YOUR DAUGHTER IS THE REASON MY SON IS IN THIS CONDITION!" He shouted
"Don't say that...you weren't there when this happened" I replied in a matter of fact tone.
"Oh really? Huh" he smiled bitterly.
"Yes" I stared at him straight in the eye and came in between him and Mister ticker.
Em's parents were like my family and I wouldn't let anyone hurt them.
"Are you all done? So we can talk about this..." Came an officer voice who was hidden and watching all this drama from a corner.
"Umhhm...yes" I backed off,not wanting get in their radar for you know what.
The officers asked their parents everything about them,checked for their phones and apparently Em's phone was missing from the scene.
While Mathew's phone turned in to pieces.
"But
.." I started and suddenly all eyes were on me.
Shut up Saph! Don't say a word, my inner voice said.
"I got a call from that phone for Saph..." I said.
There you said it dumb head.
"How's that possible? Give me your phone" the police man was in my face in a second.
"Uh oka-" before I could extend it, he snatched it from me like a tiger.
"Woah ... Easy officer" I laughed sarcastically which didn't go unnoticed by him.
"It's impossible..." He said to himself as he went through my phone.
"What's wrong??" I asked quizzically.
"This phone call was made at 1:00 pm"
He looked at me strangely.
"Yeah I know.." I answered back.
"They crashed at 2:00 miss" he ended and my mind went blank.
"What are you saying?? It's not possible,it's a mistake.." I held my head ,it was hurting so bad.
"Where do you live?" He asked again.
"The national dorms apartment, I bought one there." I said.
"Okay... It's at least an hour and half from your home to the crash site while from the hospital it's an hour....the question is who told you all this before one hour of all this happening and Why????" He was dead serious and glaring at me.
"Are you accusing me?? Check my call records and if I am lying how do I know you guys will take them to this hospital!" I reasoned.
"Girl listen here, if I FIND YOU involved in this, trust me I will not leave you!" Mathews father threatens me.
"You listen here Mister, I have nothing to do with this! Your children went thefe by their choice, I wasn't the one to push them.." I lowered my voice as I turned towards Em's parents.
Mrs Ticker smiled at me, knowing how much I cared for Em.
"Oh Shut up!" Mats dad shouted and lunged at me but before he could the officer grabbed him.
"Relax Mister, don't wanna get arrested now do we." he calmed him down.
He threw one last glance at me and went towards the canteen.
"Officer .. trust me I have not done this,Mat was new to us and Em and Him wanted to go on a trip together. He seemed too friendly and Em liked him so she went.." I told him everything I knew.
"They both were in a serious car crash,Em won't be walking soon and well Mat nearly died as his father was lunching at you.."he whispered.
"What??" I covered my mouth.
"Shh.. we have decided to wait for their recovery but something tells me this was not an unintentional crash,it was planned and you my girl is on their radar." He ended and stepped back.
My eyes were big as saucers...
Who were they??
From that scene?
No ....no the can't be.... Can they?
I hid that night... How is this... How??
"Mis Saphrine... So now I ask you as a friend of Emma Ticker, do you know anything that may guide us about her case" he looked at me expectantly l,his eyes expecting a discovery of truth, something that will give him lead.
Should I tell him?
What if he turns me in?but... He is a police man... I can trust him right....right??????

"No!" I said/ screamed.
And everyone looked at me like I was an alien.
The officer narrowed his eyes at me for some seconds to break me but I won't.
I had decided."I don't...know anything" I smiled at him.
"Okay." He sounds rather disappointed.
