Koba was at the train station by 7pm, sitting with his hands shoved in his hoodie pockets and his bag placed between his legs. The night train wouldn't come until 10pm but he didn't see the harm in being early. He had planned on taking a plane but decided a train ride down to california would be nice and he could take a plane from there.
It was nice to sit and people watch for a few hours as he waited. Criticize and analyze each component of the scenes playing out in front of him.Right now there was a woman walking with a man, looked to be only their....third date. He was still trying to impress her.
The woman was more accurately described as a girl. She smiled brightly, holding onto his hand tightly as she practically hopped around next to him. She was no older than 19 and she was obviously an obnoxious optimist. The man next to her smiled easily. He was dressed in a sleek suit and was probably 27 if not older. He had a short, neatly trimmed beard and watched her fondly.
They seemed to be an odd couple and yet they seemed perfectly fitted to each other.
This made even Koba smile. Suddenly koba noticed people staring one particular direction, taking a double take on what they saw.
Koba was not surprised by their reactions once he realized who it was. Iph Vander.
An extraordinarily tall, lanky man. He stood at least 7'4 ft tall. His extremely pale skin was almost translucent and you could often find veins running all over his body. His walk was slow and gentle, not a footstep heard from him. Iph wore a top hat with antlers in it. Well, the antlers were actually coming from his own head but he wore the hat to cover that fact.
His ear lobes were stretched out loosely, two odd looking feathers hanging from hooks in his ear lobes. Though this was not the strangest thing about his ears. The fact they had large points at the top similar to an elf added to his strange appearance.
His eyes were pale purple, shaded by long thick light grey lashes that matched his silky hair which was shaved partially on the left side. His nose was slightly upturned at the tip, adding to the elfish appearance.
All in all, the man was attractive in a very odd way and Koba knew this very well considering the gentle giant making his way through the train station, holding a large umbrella over his head was in fact his ex.
Koba found himself staring, not gawking like everyone else but staring. His eyes fell to the defined collar bone that was pristine without the slightest hint of a Hickey or even a kiss. His pale eyes were fixed ahead but always hooded as they looked downward as to not make the mistake of stepping on a dog or child. It had happened many times before.
Koba felt his chest ache, pulling his body inwards as if to comfort himself as he turned his eyes down to his bag, hoping that Iph had not noticed his stare over all the others.
But that's just wishful thinking. Koba thought as he saw the large black converse in front of him.
"Evening Koba. Were you really hoping I wouldn't see you?" A voice, cheerful, optimistic, patient and...teasing.
Koba clenched his teeth and ground them a few times before he looked up. He didn't even bother looking at Iph's face considering how high up it was, especially since he was sitting down. Koba wasn't particularly short but that didn't matter. Everyone was short with Iph around. It made Koba feel small and belittled without Iph trying.
"Maybe it's an insecurity you already have and me being taller just brings that to light." Iph said in reply to Koba admitting this problem. This answer only earned him a pillow in the face and a blushing Koba yelling at him."Can you blame me?" He replied, not bothering to straighten up his posture. Koba looked around the station. Fantastic. Now, instead of going as noticed as the piece of tissue in the far corner and watching everyone else, everyone was staring at him as if he were a dragon that suddenly appeared. This was only one of the problems they had in their relationship. Koba hated being watched and scrutinized.
"I guess not....But consider this punishment for not returning my attempts at contacting you." Iph said with a smile as he lowered himself onto the bench, turning to face Koba with his long legs on either side of the two long planks of redwood.
Koba only scoffed at that. "My phone was cut off months ago. I only get emails." the gentle giant opened his mouth to reply but Koba cut him off. "I know you emailed me too. I never opened them and I never opened the letters you sent either. Wasn't it obvious I didn't want to talk to you again? Could I make it any clearer?"
Koba stood up off the bench and grabbed his bag. It was only 9:30 but he could at least go buy a snack to get away from Iph.
