TY'S POV
"Aahhhhhh!!!" I scream. I'm covered in sweat. I look around at where I am. I can't remember much. I guess I'm a little disoriented. I see darkness, mostly, and start to freak out more. I scream again.
I hear a bunch of noise and hear someone. "Ty? Are you ok?" a female voice says. "I can't see-" A light turns on as I finish. I see Ryan sitting next to me on my bed. Then I remember Maisie and everything that happened.
"Where am I? What happened? Where's Maisie?!" I scream. "Shh! Mom's trying to sleep! You're in your room, you dork! Maisie's probably at her house sleeping! You probably just had a nightmare. Go back to sleep-"
"Wait, what? No! Maisie died! She drowned in the pond! It was my fault-!" I protest. "What are you talking about?! Maisie didn't die!" She says. I shake my head. "She did! I remember! I was there!" I say. "She didn't. I know that. We just got back from Hawaii yesterday. I just saw her yesterday! You did too!" Ryan confirms. I look at her confused, but nod. "I'm going to go back to sleep." She says before she walks out of my room.
I wait til I hear her door close and hop out of bed. I pull on some shoes and climb out my window. I just need to make sure... I look around my feet for some pebbles. I grab a handful and start tossing them high enough to hit Maisie's window.
Come on Maisie! I throw a couple more. Come on! Answer! I reach down for another handful, but before I can grab it, the lights in her window turn on. I drop the pebbles and run to climb up the vines. Her window opens, but I can't see her. Maisie! I smile and climb faster.
I reach the open window and come face to face with
Rachel? "Rachel? What are you doing here? Where's Maisie?" I ask. "Um I'm sleeping over; what are you doing here?" "Where's Maisie?" I ask again. "She's in the bathroom I think-" I push my way into through the window.
I run to the bathroom and knock repeatedly on the door. "One minute!" I hear a voice say from behind the door. I wait impatiently until I hear the click of the lock. The door finally opens. The light blinds me a little, but I can make out the silhouette of a girl. It has to be Maisie!
