That Day, at Dinner

"Hey Ruby, don't forget to feed Chuck when we get back to the dorms!" Yang said, taking a bite from her turkey.

"Oh thanks, I almost forgot! Weiss, Blake, don't worry. The personality changes how I raise him to be, so I'll make sure he's very happy all the time!" Ruby said, sipping her milk.

"We trust you with that." Blake said, shivering slightly.

"Oh come on Blake, just say it!" Weiss snapped, glancing to Yang.

"You know well that's not why I'm shivering." Blake snapped back, locking a death stare with Weiss.

"Well why are you shivering? Is it about Chuck?" Ruby asked, her head slightly tilted.

"No, Weiss accidentally hit me with some ice dust on the way over here and I've been busy... Defrosting." Blake replied, looking to Weiss to continue the story.

"Yeah, I hit her with a massive blast of ice dust from Myrtenaster in training, which almost froze her in place." Weiss said, seeing Ruby start to laugh.

"Hah, I would have paid to see that!" Yang said, looking over to Blake. "Something wrong kitty cat?"

"No, it's really nothing. I'm just defrosting."

"We're back Chuck!" Ruby yelled as they walked into the dorm room.

"Ruby, he can't hear you. He's off right now." Yang said, balling up her socks and tossing them into the laundry basket in their bathroom.

"So? I want to treat him like a normal pet. That's how I'm planning on making him feel loved!" Ruby pouted, turning Chuck's switch to 'on'.

"Hello Ruby!" Chuck said as Ruby's face lit up.

"Yang, he remembers my name!" Ruby said, taking some of the food he came with to feed him.

"Oh cool, I didn't even know there was a name memorization software in there!" Yang replied, hopping up onto her bunk.

"Me neither! Ok Chuck, want to hear a funny joke?" Ruby said, waving for Yang to come over to help her think of some.

"But I just laid down!" Yang pouted, hopping off of her bunk.

"Sure Ruby!" Chuck said enthusiastically.

"What's black and white and read all over?" Ruby asked, stifling a giggle.

"I'm not sure, what?" Chuck replied, his expression turning into what Blake saw as a 'help me', but Ruby saw as a 'what is it?'.

"A newspaper!" Ruby replied, laughing fairly hard.

"That was a good one!" Chuck replied, laughing along with Ruby.

"Ok Chuck, we need to sleep. Goodnight!" Ruby said, reaching for the off switch.

"Goodnight!" Chuck aid before being turned off, his eyes closing.

"See guys? I'll tell him jokes and everything!" Ruby said, diving onto her bed and turning off the lights.

"That should work well!" Blake forced, looking to Weiss as if to say 'Say something nice about Chuck!'.

"Yeah, that should help." Weiss said, her tone slightly sarcastic.
