Nico's P.O.V.
"Meet me in the club room tomorrow at this time. We need to talk." I turned on my heel and left a surprised Maki in the music room, my heart aching. I was so angry with her but I just couldn't help the way I felt about her.
What the hell is wrong with you, I thought. Pull yourself together! You're not in love! Stupid stupid stupid! You know why you're asking her to meet you! Get your head out of the gutter!
I had to admit though that she was a really great pianist. I loved that about her. I loved her hair, her eyes, the laugh, her tusndere attitude...
My face flushed bright red as I walked faster. I was not in love with Maki. I couldn't be. She had hurt me in a way that was unforgivable.
I soon arrived back at my home, sneaking in so I didn't wake anyone. Fifteen minutes later I was sitting on my bed in my favorite pajamas, staring out my window with tears in my eyes and Maki filling every corner of my mind.
Maki's P.O.V.
I couldn't sleep. How could I when the girl who had refused to talk to me for weeks suddenly want to meet in the club room? My heart pounded at the though of Nico and I, alone in the clubroom. We could do whatever we wanted to...
I shook my head furiously. There was no way that's why she wanted to meet me in the clubroom. I sighed in frustration, rolling around in the silk sheets on my king sized bed. I wrapped myself around the body pillow and mumbled Nico's name until I slowly drifted off to sleep.
The next morning...
I woke up early that morning. I couldn't wait to get to school. I needed to see her. I scarfed down my breakfast and ran to school as fast as I could. I showed up, panting slightly as the cold winter air blew on my face.
"Maki-chan? What are you doing here so early?" I turned around and was surprised to see Kotori standing behind me, a curious look on her face.
"U-um... I was just... I forgot to... I..." I stuttered helplessly, trying to find the right words.
"Come on, Maki-chan. Lets go take a walk," she said, smiling at me. I nodded and her and I began taking a walk around the school grounds. "Hey, Maki-chan. There's been rumors going around that you like Nico-chan. Is that true?"
I let out a small noise of surprise and looked away. "A-as if! I could never like Nico-chan! Hmph," I said, sticking my nose up in the air slightly, my eyes closed.
Kotori giggled. "Oh I see," she said. "You know, Maki-chan, you really need to hide your feelings better. I've been observing how you look at Nico-chan for some time now and the love you feel is quite obvious."
My face flushed. "I-is it really that obvious..?" I asked, my gaze moving towards my hands. "I've been trying for so long to give up on these feelings but I just can't."
Kotori smiled. "You two are meeting in the clubroom right? Tell her how you feel then."
My head whipped towards her. "H-how do you know about that?" My face turned bright red and she giggled, covering her mouth with one hand to try and surpress them as best she could.
"I was spying on the two of you. Actually, we all were. You two are obviously in love and we are just waiting for you two to get together." She smiled as I bulshed a deep scarlet and looked away.
"Its not nice to invade people's private lives, especially when its something as serious as my happiness." My voice was soft as I spoke, my eyes suddenly becoming sad.
"Maki, when you meet her today, tell her how you really feel. I'm sure Nico will accept your feelings." She looked at her watch and shrieked. "Class is starting soon! We have to hurry!"
Nico's P.O.V.
Throughout my entire day, through morning practice, through my classes, through lunch, and even through after school practice, all I could think about was Maki. Her beautiful, flowing red hair, her amethist eyes and the her tsundere attitude. A lot of the times I had to force myself to focus during class and force myself to tear my gaze away from her during practice.
I am still not in love with Maki.
But as I sat in the club room, wishing for time to move faster, my heart ached with the thought of seeing Maki again. I shook my head vigorously. No, that's not why I asked her to meet me. This was something much more serious.
I sat in my computer chair, my eyes scanning over the computer screen, and my heart fluttering. I heard the door open and spun around to face it, the beautiful Maki standing there. I stood, longing to embrace her. My heart ached for her love. But I knew I couldn't have it.
"Maki. There's something I need to-"
"I love you, Nico-chan!"
My eyes widened as she ran over, grabbing my hand and holding it between us with both of hers. "Nico-chan, I'm sorry for what I said! I'm sorry! Please, forgive me!" Her eyes were closed and tears were at the corners of her eyes.
"Maki...chan.."
Maki's P.O.V.
My heart beat hard in my chest as I looked up at Nico, her eyes slowly filling with tears. "Maki-chan... You don't understand.."
"Yes I do Nico-chan. I understand that you're upset. I understand that you probably hate me but I can't help how I feel!" I stepped closer to her, my hands dropping hers and moving to her soft cheeks, gently wiping away her tears.
"Maki-chan... I'm moving overseas after Love Live."
