I held my hands into tight fists as we headed towards the wall. I tilted my head back and squinted my eyes against the blinding sun. The white scratch marks on the concrete wall were harsh and purposeful. "Oh my god," The guard next to me whispered. Another set of footsteps approached. I glanced behind me to see another man in a blue overall joining us, his hands on his hips as he examined the wall.
We nodded, and I returned my attention on the scratch marks. There was something odd about this whole thing. I couldn't quite tell.
The walkie talkie on the guard's shoulder buzzed. Static noises echoed before a woman's voice spoke up. I frowned at him as the three of us tried to catch her warning.
"...Get out of the paddock...Now!"
Her words hit just as something crunched behind us. I whipped around and locked gaze with the exact dinosaur that we were looking for.
Holy moly.
I spun around and sprinted towards the entrance to the observation deck once more. Just as I was about to approach the building, the rex stepped right into my path. It snapped and snatched the man in the blue overall from besides me.
My hands ripped the air as if it would help me to run faster. My breaths were heavy and ragged as I rushed to the other exit as fast as possible. My heart was threatening to jump out of my throat as the ground shook beneath me. The Indominus Rex howled, its voice blowing in my ears and I swore I could feel its hot breath on my back.
The guard had already sneaked out of the opening gate. He glanced back hastily and punched another button. The gate began to close. "Shit," I breathed and pushed myself.
Faster. Faster, god damn it!
My shoulders brushed between the gate and the wall as I slid onto the ground. The gate was about to close when the Indominus Rex bursted through it, breaking the concrete and wall into pieces.
I scrambled under a trunk immediately. Despite my lack of air and the difficulties of breathing, I stared up at the base of the car. The rex shrieked, and I could feel every inch of me shake with the ground. Reaching up, I pulled loose a pipe and slice it open with a dagger that I had pulled out of my waist belt. Squeezing my eyes close, I poured coolant all over me. Hopefully it would cover my scent.
This was no game anymore. I laid flat on my back and stayed still, though I had the strongest urge to run away from the scene and never look back.
Next to me, the rex picked up the other trunk with ease, like it was made out of paper. The guard was praying, holding his necklace to his lips as he trembled. Before the rex opened its great mouth and bit into him, he casted one last look at me.
And then he wasn't there anymore.
I twisted my head back into position, swallowing a whimper as I pressed my arms close to my body. I wondered if the guard had any family, if he had anyone he loved or cared for.
But that didn't matter anymore, did it?
The rex lowered its head besides my trunk, sniffing and searching. I held my breath, staring up at the base of the car. Well, if it ate me now, not many people would miss me. Ben would grief over my death, I hoped Claire would too. Barry would be upset and well, maybe Owen would care enough to shed a few tears.
I would miss Rexy the most.
The rex lifted its head up again. Roaring into the air, it charged towards the direction to Jurassic World. But I waited. I was still until I was sure I was going to explode from the lack of oxygen. Then I allowed myself to relax the slightest. First my shoulders, then my legs. I stared and stared then breathed. Raising and dropping my chest, I counted from one to ten. Then I thought about people and Rexy. Then I could breathe again.
Wiping a few tears off my cheeks, I rolled out from under the car and stood. I sniffed and leaned against the truck. "Fuck," I whispered and my voice cracked. Just right there, I decided the deserted area would be perfect for my breakdown.
Once I was done with crying and being a baby, I collected myself and climbed into the driver seat of the truck. I slammed the door shut and gripped onto the steering wheel. Even though my hands were shaking like mad, I inhaled and exhaled rhythmically because I knew I had to stay cool. I had something that I needed to do, and speaking with Claire was the first on my list.
Ten minutes later, I was scowling at my own reflection in the elevator that would take me to the control room. Once the metal doors slid open, I stormed in with raging air. A security guard tried to stop me. But honestly, no one would look threatening to me anymore, compared to the freaking Indominus Rex. "Where's your director?" I growled and shove him away. "Claire? Where the hell are you?"
The woman turned on her heels, her eyes were wide and bright. She slapped a hand over her mouth and visibly trembled when I approached her. Did I look that terrifying? Then I peered over at the massive screen that was displayed to everybody in the room like it was the big screen from a cinema. The CTV in the Indominus Rex's paddock was being played on the massive screen. So that meant everybody in this damn room had seen my close call with the dinosaur.
"Oh, Stacey," Claire whispered but I shook my head at her, my face still felt stiff of the sunken expression that I was wearing.
"Please tell me how the hell was the rex still in the paddock?" When Claire didn't answer, I leaned in closer, we were alarmingly close as I hissed in her voice, "I was almost killed in there, Claire. Do you realise how dangerous that thing is?"
"I'm really sorry," Claire muttered. Lifting her chin up, she tried to level gaze with me. I narrowed my eyes in fury.
"Shut down the park. Now."
At this, the woman turned away. Someone else spoke up, despite the tensed and heavy atmosphere in the room. "The dinosaur can deflect thermal detection." I turned to see Owen. Something in me lightened, and instantly the rage that had been stirring up within me vanished. I became deflated, like a whizzing balloon. I stared as he walked up to me, his hands trailed from my arms to my hands, and he began to relax my fists. I sighed quietly and he tried a smile. Though it wasn't hard to tell he was extremely worked up about this whole situation, and I was glad to know I wasn't the only one who was mad about this business.
"She's right," Owen remarked and peered over his shoulder to look at Claire, "You need to shut down the park now."
He must have pushed some kind of buttons in Claire, for she literally shouted, "You're not in control here!" and had everybody silent. I locked gaze with my close friend. Her eyes softened quietly but the wild glints in her gaze weren't out yet. Breathing in shakily, Claire explained as calmly as possibly, "I've sent the InGen team in. They will sort out the situation very quickly as they have been trained to do."
I stared and dropped my hands so Owen couldn't feel my trembling limps. I was so mad. The boil of white hot emotions burnt and growled within. She had no idea. This whole team of skilled people were going to their death.

Some of the dialogues are not a hundred percent accurate because it's been quite a while since I have watched the movie but I like how it is so far:) In my head it goes well with whatever I have planned ahead for Stacey and Owen. I hope you guys like it!
