Chapter 3: Moving Day

None of us are the same as we were a moment ago. - from Her

I woke up with the sun shining in my face, hating life. Have you ever noticed how when you're having a bad day everybody and everything else are just so perfectly happy and then that makes your day even worse? Yeah, I could tell that today was going to be one of those days.

It's currently Sunday morning.

The dreaded moving day.

I sit there in bed, not wanting to move, so I literally just zone out and stare at the wall. Next thing I know, my  mom's bustling into the room with a smile that's brighter than the rays of the sun that assaulted me and woke me up earlier.

"Wow, you're already up, Carly? I think that means that the world's ending, which would be unfortunate seeing as how we're moving to our brand new house today!" She squeals like a little excited girl. I just groaned and rolled over.

See? Just like I said, she of course has to be extra extra happy and covered in sprinkles the same day my life ends. Lucky me.

Then, she did the one thing that most mothers do when waking their children up, which is throwing my perfectly warm nest of blankets off of me.

Now I just want to punch her in the face.

"Get up, sugarplum!"

"No."

"Good morning..." she starts singing.

"No."

"Good morning to you! The birds are chirpin-"

"NO!"

She looks at me all offended and shocked and I instantly feel bad. So, I get up out of my bed and hug her. With my arms still around her, I said "That's what a bratty child would say. I was just, um, demonstrating that so you could appreciate what an amazingly perfect daughter you have."

She just starts laughing and shaking her head so I say "I love you, momma Ling."

While still laughing she stands and says "That was a load of bull and you are a brat."

"Love you too!" I cheekily say.

She heads out of the room and, over her shoulder, says "You might want to get ready because any minute now the guys will be here. Including Bryan."

I sigh very dramatically as I close my door and head to my closet. As I rummage through my clothes, I reminisce the past week.

So, just to fill you in, after Bryan kissed me we just talked and kissed some more for the rest of the night. I told him that we couldn't be in a relationship and that made things awkward. He hasn't really gone out of his way to talk to me since then, which is not like him and it's super unfair. Why is he mad at me?

I threw on a pair of short shorts and a tank top (don't judge me, it's really hot). I put my hair into a messy bun that actually turned out really cute and Tumblr-y for tghe first time of my life.

I didn't bother with makeup because it would just melt right off, and headed downstairs. I walked into my kitchen which was filled with my mom, who was cooking, Drew, Jeremy, Peter, and Michael. I almost wanted to start crying when I noticed that Bryan wasn't here, but I didn't because that's stupid and girly.

"Hey guys! Morning!"

I was met with all of the guys saying hello and Drew who sprinted to me and pulled me into a tight hug.
