"Do my eyes deceive me?" I whisper to Sam.

"Do you not see my text!" She whisper-yells over her shoulder.

I check my phone and sure enough I see the text saying our ex-bestfriend was back.

Standing there was Cameron Dellvano, but he looked nothing like he did five years ago, obviously. He was at least 6 inches taller at 6'1 maybe. His hair was pushed back and wasn't shaggy and long like it used to be. And... And... he had muscles, not to much, but enough to make any girl swoon. Not me, of course. He still had those big blue eyes. Oh wait he's staring, now he's coming over here. WHY!

"Samantha, hey!" He greets, his voice was much deeper than I remember. He gives her a hug, she's a little reluctant, but she gives in anyways.

"Hey." Her voice alters a bit. All of her cheer friends were watching, motioning to bring the new guy over to them.

They break from each other, and from the corner from my eye Cameron staring at me. I just keep my eyes on my phone.

"Awe come one you're not going give ol' Cam Cam a hug?" He jokes opening his arms.

I scoff at him. "Go away"

"Char! Charlie. Why you mad?" He takes my phone out of my hands.

"Hey!" I try to reach for it, but I am too short. "Give it back!" I say through gritted teeth.

"Whoa! Down girl!" He jokes. He was acting as if we were best of friends again. "For whatever I did. I'm sorry."

"You're so immature and oblivious, Cameron. Just don't talk to me." I jump up and take the phone away form his hands. I stalk away with Sam following close behind.

"You ok?" She asks cautiously.

"Yeah... It's just he doesn't call of text or anything, for five years and expects us to be 'buddy buddy' like there wasn't a gap in our lives." I rant frustrated.

"I guess you're right." She says softly. I knew she missed him when he left and she he stay in contact it hurt the both of us. "We should get going." And we get to class.
