I was sitting in my English class already wishing that summer break would start. Cameron, my ex-bestfriend, would interrupt the teacher ever five minutes, either to ask a stupid question or to just talk. To me it was very annoying, I just wanted to learn so I could pass those quizzes Mrs. Carl says we have every week, but everyone else didn't seem to mind, even Samantha. The side track conversation would last at least 10 minutes an it adds up. By the end of the week I had barely fie pages of notes to study for the quiz.I hoping that she's let us off the hook and not make us take a quiz on the first week of school, but she was clearly still passing them out.
I ended up getting a F. I look over and see that Cameron got an A+. Not fair at all, but then I guess life isn't fair. I scoff an turn back around in my seat. There is no way he got an A, he must have cheated. The bell rings and I gather my things.
"Cameron, charlie could you wait a moment." She waits until the entire class is empty, I knew this wasn't going to be good, "Charlie I saw you got the worst grade in the class and I've seen previous grades in english and they weren't any better. So I think Mr. Dellvano here, should tutor you. He got the best grade and he was top in his class at his old school." She suggests.
A tutor? I don't think so. "I do better next time, I promise. I don't need a tutor."
"Its already settled Mrs. Dorian you are to meet up everyday after school until you grade is up." She settles.
"Fine." I storm out the room and I already know Cameron has a smirk on his face.
"Seems like we're going to see each other more often than expected." he says following behind me.
"My grandma wants you to come over for dinner tonight. You don't have to come." I change the subject stopping in my tracks.
"I'd love to come." He winks. "Still living at the same place?"
"Yeah be there at 7." I walk away from him.
"Why don't I give you a ride home? Since we have to study anyways." He suggest.
"Whatever." I say over my shoulder.
The final bell rings and I grown. I didn't want to sit in the library alone with someone like Cameron after school hours.
I get to library before Cameron and he comes late. "You're late." I say disapprovingly.
"Yeah sorry I-" He starts.
"Don't care." I raise my hand up, "Lets just get this over with." I say opening on of the english books from the table.
"Rude." Cameron mumbles under his breath. He sits down next to me and tries to share the book with me.
"What are you doing?" I look at him.
"Trying to help you study?" He furrows his eyebrows.
I hand him a book from the middle of the table. "I think you should sit across from me, so we can see each other and talk better." I suggest.
He takes, more like snatches, the book out of my hand and walks over to the other end of the table, "What do you need help on?" Her grumbles.
I look at him and he seems annoyed with me. I'm annoyed with him too. I don't even want to be here, right now."
"I don't want to be here either, but we have to. If you get an A on the test you'll be free from me." He says angrily.
I can't believe I said that out loud. I don't know why he's mad, well technically I do, but he should be apologizing. I pull out my quiz from my bag, pushing my thoughts away.
