Chapter 1: A New Band

Another season of X Factor. Just another stupid "family" show that forces my family and I to sit in the same room for 1-2 hours trying not to scream at each other.
I'm dressed in my Sublime t-shirt and black sweatpants curled up in the corner of the couch with a bowl of ice cream. I looked up from the bowl after trying to scoop up a chunk of my ice cream to hear Skater Boy by Avril Lavigne playing over the speakers in my living room and three boys caught my eye.
"I am Drew Chadwick. I am 19. I'm Wes and I'm 18. I'm Keaton and I'm 15. We are Emblem3 and we are from Huntington Beach." I perked up a bit gazing into the TV. I live in Huntington, I'm 16, and slightly attracted to all of them. Especially the 15 year old.
None of the other acts that day even slightly compared to Emblem3. After the show my parents started yelling (again) and so I went into my room and grabbed my phone to look up Emblem3 on Google. "What am I doing?!" I said. I exited out of the Internet app stopping myself from continuing my search. I'm not that girl that goes and fan girls/obsesses over some band. It wasn't me. But...I needed to tell someone about them. Especially since they're from Huntington! I grabbed my phone and texted my best friend Sammy and immediately sent her the link to their audition tape I got off of YouTube. I knew that by the next day Sammy would have thought they were a hot and would have gone and stalked their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and any other sights that might have popped up.
