WARNING:
This chapter contains rude language, clubbing, and alcohol usage.I was pulled back from my thoughts by a loud banging on my cubicle door.
"Excuse meeeeeee," a slurred voice sounded on the other end, "Are youuu dead there, or whaaaa?"
Sighing, I got up from the toilet lid and, smoothing my skimpy dress, opened the door. The girl leaning on it fell into my arms with a loud yelp. I grunted, as I tried to hold her upright. She giggled.
"You saved meee," she slurred, looking at me with glazed eyes.
"No problem." I replied curtly before dropping her onto the toilet lid and closing the door.
Washing my hands with cold water and soap, I looked at myself in the mirror.
I didn't really change since that day. My eyes were still the same deep green, my hair fell in soft, brown waves over my bare shoulders and back, and I still had the same petite face and figure. The only thing different about me was my hair color. I used to always dye it a platinum blonde before I, well, died. Almost five months have passed since that day with Lucifer and Alaric, and I have gotten used to my hair's natural hair color.
Grabbing a paper towel, I carefully dabbed my forehead and underneath my eyes so I wouldn't ruin my makeup.
This breakdown of mine was unacceptable. I needed to get my act together. I still haven't completed my job for tonight.
"Get your shit together," I told my reflection. With that, I made my way to the door, but stopped when I heard that girl in the cubicle crying.
"You alright in there?" I asked.
"Just go away!" She cried, sniffing loudly.
I rolled my eyes, but then focused them on the door of the cubicle she was sitting in. I knew that my pupils must of grown significantly, because I could see the girl's silhouette through the closed door.
She was sitting on the closed toilet seat, sobbing into her hands. I snapped my fingers and her soul switched on. More than half of it was filled with white seals but there were a couple of black ones in there. This girl was a goody-too-shoes, judging by her soul. I took a safe guess and assumed that she just picked up a naughty boyfriend who brought her to this club.
You know how I guessed that? Because I, for a hundred percent know that she fell in love with the baddest of the bad and does anything he tells her to.
This baddest of the bad was no one other than Jason Kent himself. I squinted on her black seals, and that just confirmed my guessing. Sure enough, JK was engraved into all of them. JK for the abbreviation of Just Kidding. Jason found it hilarious.
Jason Kent was my partner in crime. We are both Soul Sealers (there are many others, of course) and we met each other during the first training in the Underworld.
Jason was a wild child, crazy, outgoing, and smoking hot. It's actually unreal how perfect he is. We've had a thing a couple of months ago, but then we decided to just stay as friends. Well, I was the one who decided to end things.
It was better for both of us that way, the kind of job we do and stuff.
I blinked and my ultra red vision disappeared. The girl continued crying, but I couldn't help her. Looking at myself in the mirror one last time, I smoothed my dress and left the bathroom to go and finish my job. Yes, you guessed right. Since that day in my father's study, when Lucifer announced that I am to be his Soul Sealer, I have been working as one for almost five months now.
