Friday Evening — 6:30 PM
The air was thick with summer warmth, golden hues slowly melting into the evening sky as the three men stepped into one of the city's most upscale bridal boutiques. Jimin could barely focus. His thoughts were tangled in deadlines, expectations, and one looming truth:
They were getting married in 48 hours.
“Hyung, are you sure this place isn’t too much?” Jimin asked, nervously glancing at the glass doors.
“If you’re marrying your professor in two days, we’re doing it right,” Jihyun snapped playfully. “Now move it.”
Jungkook arrived just seconds behind them, dressed sharply in a sleek black shirt with his sleeves folded, calm as ever. But even he looked a little serious tonight.
“Let’s hurry,” Jungkook said to the stylist who greeted them. “We don’t have time for five rounds of fittings.”
The boutique staff wasted no time, bringing racks of tuxedos, suits, and fusion outfits. The wedding was on Sunday — no delays, no reschedules — thanks to Grandpa’s insistence. And now, here they were. Rushing to make it all real.
Jimin was the first to get ushered into the fitting room. Velvet-lined curtains, soft spotlights, and a growing pressure in his chest. As the stylist helped him into the first outfit — a cream and soft gold modern hanbok-inspired suit — he couldn't stop thinking:
"In two days, I’m marrying him."
Outside, Jungkook was already in a sharp ivory suit when Jihyun turned to him with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
Just then, Jimin stepped out in the cream suit.
Jungkook looked up — and paused.
His breath hitched, just a second. Not long enough to be obvious, but enough for Jihyun to catch it. His eyes shifted between them.
“Try another one too,” Jihyun said, directing the stylist. “Let’s make sure he doesn’t look better than you. "
Jungkook chuckled, but it was tight.
Over the next hour, the boutique became a blur of fabric, changing rooms, and awkward glances. Jimin couldn’t stop sweating. Jungkook couldn’t stop adjusting his collar. Jihyun couldn’t stop analyzing every interaction like a detective in a slow-burn drama.
And then came the final blow:
Jihyun turned to Jungkook again. “Who proposed first tell me again?”
Jungkook didn’t hesitate. “I did.”
“And why?”
Jungkook met his gaze squarely. “Because I didn’t want to waste time once I realized what I felt.”
Jihyun didn’t smile this time. Just nodded — slowly — and said, “You’re good at this.”
“I’m good at being honest,” Jungkook replied.
Jimin heard all of it. He wasn’t meant to, but the thin curtain between the changing room and the outer lounge couldn’t block out the way his heart skipped at those words.
He pressed his hand over his chest, confused, flustered, and more scared than ever.
Once they were done and bags were packed, Jihyun checked his watch. “I’ll take care of the rings tomorrow. You two figure out the final paperwork. It’s Friday. Sunday isn’t far.”
Then he turned to Jimin, softer this time. “I know I’m being a bit much, but… you’re still my baby brother. I just want to be sure.”
Jimin nodded quietly. “I know, hyung.”
