*Week Later, Britney's POV*
I was still anxious about the possibility of me being pregnant. Then again, I can't blame anyone but myself. Well I could blame Matthew but I'm not. My dad is going to kill me.
That's another thing I'm anxious about; he's still not home from one of his cases. He's never gone this long. Ugh. My mom has been trying to keep my brother distracted to keep him from getting upset that Dad wasn't home yet.
They're super close.
I was sitting in the living room reading a World War II novel while my mom was at the store. Jack was napping in his room after a long day of being a kid.
I miss those days but my life was pretty decent for right now. I had Cinderblock Garden by All Time Low playing quietly from the small stereo by the fireplace and a cup of coffee on the table next to me. Who could go wrong with coffee? I was trying to focus on my book but honestly, I've been reading it for two months and it never takes me that long to read.
I sighed and closed my book, I took a long sip of my coffee and burned my tongue. Great. I heard cartoons playing from Jack's room so I stood up and headed into his room and stood in the doorway.
"Finally awake, sleepy head?" I say chuckling.
Jack looks up at me glumly, "I miss Daddy.."
I frowned and walked into the room and sat on the floor next to him, "I miss Daddy too."
"When's he coming home?" He asks as he crawls into my lap.
I wrap my arms around Jack's small body and hold him close, "I don't know, lil man..soon I hope."
I heard the front door open, it was probably my mom but I hoped it was my dad, no offense mom. Jack and I got up and headed to the living room. We didn't see anything but we heard rustling in the kitchen so I walked in first with Jack behind me instinctively.
"Sissy, who is it?" Jack whispered.
As I was opening the pantry door my dad jumped out and scared the living hell out of me. I swore that my heart stopped beating. I could hear my mom laughing as she recorded from the laundry room.
"Oh my god, Dad!" I yelled as I practically jumped into his arms. He laughed as he hugged me back.
A couple of minutes rolled by and Jack wasted no time at all to tackle my Dad. It was probably the happiest he's been all week. I can't blame him, all of my worry and stress seemed to fade too.
We all headed into the living room and my dad was spinning Jack around like an airplane and it was the cutest thing ever. My mom just stood next to me smiling proudly at her little family. I was happy to be a part of it.
I looked down to my belly anxiously, hopefully I wouldn't be adding onto it anytime soon though...
A little while later, Jack decided to go play with his toys for a bit to let Dad relax. I was in the living room sitting with my parents when I noticed the sexual tension.
How fucking awkward...
I pursed my lips and grabbed my keys and purse, "Well I'm going to go take Jack to the mall...You kids have fun now." As I walked to my brothers room I yelled, "You kids use protection!" Over my shoulder.
My parents were easy to embarrass so I took advantage of it. I thought it was funny. I used to be the same way but then I started dating Matthew and well..yeah. Who has time to be embarrassed?
I got Jack ready and we got into my car, I made sure he was buckled into his car seat before I did anything else. I put my phone on the passenger seat along with my purse and other things. I put my "Nothing Personal" album by All Time Low into the CD player and backed out.
Jack loved All Time Low almost as much as I did. I've been playing them around him for almost his whole life. I never gave him enough time to hate them. He loves the fact that him and Jack Barakat have the same first name, I think it's pretty cute.
He was singing along to Dear Maria Count Me In when he stopped abruptly and started kicking my seat. I turned the stereo down and looked at him through the rear view mirror.
"What's wrong, Jack?" I ask.
He smiles at me, "Would it be okay if Taylor or Matthew came with us to the mall?"
I grinned, "I can ask them."
"YAY!" He yelled happily causing me to laugh.
I pulled over into the closest parking lot because I can't multitask and I'm not texting and driving with Jack in the back seat. I grabbed my phone and dialled Taylor first.
"Hello?" She answers breathing heavily.
I furrowed my brows because it didn't sound right then I could hear more panted breathing on the line, "Are you having sex?" I asked quietly through the phone so Jack wouldn't hear me.
"Yeah. Sorry, you kinda have bad timing. What's up?" She laughed.
"Uhm, well since you're busy, I'll let you go, babes." I laughed, "Have fun."
She chuckled and hung up. Well that was awkward. I sat there laughing my ass off before I could even think of calling Matthew.
"Can Matthew go with us?" Jack asked.
I finally stopped laughing, "I haven't been able to call him yet."
"Then call him!"
"Why're you wanting me to call Matthew so bad??" I asked, turning around to face him.
"Because you've been acting funny and you haven't talked to Matthew. It's like you're sad all the time. I don't like it." Jack says.
I wasn't expecting that.
I dialled Matthew's number and waited for him to answer. Finally, after the second ring he answered tiredly, "Hello, beautiful."
I blushed immediately, "Hey, cutiee. Do you have any plans today?" I asked.
"Nothing as important as spending time with you." He says sweetly.
"Aweee." I smiled, "Well would you like to spend some time with Jack and I at the mall?"
"I'll meet you there, sweetie. I love you."
"I love you too." I smiled widely.
I hung up the phone and we drove to the mall. Jack seemed pretty happy today which made me happy. I loved that little boy. He's my little brother but I love him as if he were my own, to be honest.
"When you guys get married can I be the ring barer?" Jack randomly asks.
I reply, "If I'm lucky, little dude."
((Hey lovelies, I hope you guys enjoyed it. Sorry it's taken so long to update, I've been sorta busy with school stuff. But anyway, comment/favourite if you enjoyed the update. Love you guys!))
