Breakfast For The Prince

I rubbed my eyes as I felt the warm rays of the sun reach my skin. I sat up slowly and stretched while letting out a yawn. I looked over at the table next to my bed and smiled at this picture of my mom.
"Good morning mom! Wish me good luck!" I sat up and went to the bathroom to get ready. It's been a week since it heard about what had happened to my mother... If only I was with her.

"Akane, you're such a selfish child sometimes..." I say to myself as I opened the door to exit my room. I wonder what I should-
"Ack!" I bumped into someone and looked up to see Zain. I fixed my outfit than smiled and greeted him with
"Good morning! How'd you sleep?" He looks down at me than replies with
"Your up early... Well, Good morning to you mam, I had a good nights rest, but let's get to the main part" he hands me a piece of paper. I raised a brow before accepting it and opening it to find some chores to do for the day.

"You don't have much work but I suggestion get to it if you want done free time, if you have any questions come find me. Have a good day miss" he informs than leaves, I stood there dumbfounded than shrugged my shoulders. I did say I wanted a challenge.

I went down to the kitchen to fetch Wilfred's breakfast only to find no one there.
"Where could the chefs be?" I questioned, no one in particular. I crossed my arms and leaned against the table than realized something. As I looked over at the time I noticed it was merely 6:45, I had a long time before anyone would start working. "Well... Since I'm up and hungry..." A smirk creeps into my lips as I started searching for the ingredients.

"There we go! Some fluffy pancakes, omelet with my special sauce and cute octopus sausages on the side" I smiled to myself and took in the aroma. "I'm sure prince Wilfred would love this!" I looked at the clock to see it's already 7:27, quickly I set everything onto a tray and rushed it to Wilfred's room. Surprisingly there were no guards by his door. Guess everything's not like the movies. I entered the dim room and see a sleeping figure on the bed.

Slowly I set his breakfast down on the table beside his bed than looked over to see him in a horrible state. He's sweating... His facial expressions seemed is of he was in pain. I went into the bathroom and took out the handkerchief my mother gave to me. I wet it with cold water than set it on Wilfred's forehead. I almost tipped over cause my heels were too much to handle.

Wilfred has stunning features... Is looks so much more captivating up close- no I shouldn't be doing this, this is getting too weird!

I left a Good Morning note next to his breakfast before existing the room. I walked down the hall way than tripped over and fell.
"Oof!" As soon as I stand up I see Zain down the hallway.

That was embarrassing, I hope he didn't see that. I walked down the hall to get back to the kitchen but for some reason my ankles gave out. I fell again while trying to make my way pass Zain.

He lets out a small and quiet chuckle as he catches me.
"are you alright?" He questions and I pushed him away saying
"Hush! I didn't f-?!" I fell over and this time Zain couldn't catch me. Slowly I stood up and smiled awkwardly, on the other hand Zain seemed quiet amused.
"L-let's pretend that never happened..." I blushed from embarrassment than tried to walk away but he stops me.

"Your heel's broken... You should stick to flats, you'll also look like less of an idiot" He says bluntly and I sulk while sucking my cheeks in. I bowed before taking my heels off and sprinting to my room.
"Note to self, never wear heels ever again"

I went on my day and did my chores. On my way back to my room I noticed a sheet of paper sticking out from under the door. I looked around to see if anyone was around before picking it up and going inside my room. I opened up the letter it read...

Dear Lady Andi,

Thank you for the meal. It was very tasty and kind of you to do something that wasn't your job. If you don't mind me asking you of this, please cook for me again. I'd like to see what else you can do.

I stretched my arms before setting the card down on the table...
"I wonder what's this about... Oh mom, I hope I'm going the right direction in life" tears started welling up and my vision became blurry. I placed my hands on my cheeks and repeatedly slapped my cheeks while forcing myself to stop crying.

"You're fine Akane! Get yourself together!" I placed my hand on the necklace my mother gave to me when I was a child. I told a deep breathe but it was shaky, I rushed into the bathroom and washed up. As soon as I exist the bathroom there was a knock... I stopped what I was doing and opened the door.
"Prince Wilfred has summon you" Zain says...
