Somewhere Far Away

Akane's POV

"AKANE!" A loud but low voice roared my name and it was followed up with a bang. I instantly sat up and was wide awake.
"Oh god... Was that a ghost?" I pulled the blanket over my head and began muttering, "please don't haunt me mom, I'm sorry I left you all alone! as soon as I get the money I'll come see y-"
"MISS AKANE!" A familiar voice announced my name once more and like before, came along with a bang.

I sighed heavily and looked over at the clock, it was only 5 in the morning. IN THE MORNING!
" I should be sleeping!" I puffed out and rushed to open the door.
"Morning ma-" my greeting was stopped when Zain pushed some paper onto me.
"It's was already all over the news! just what do you think you're doing?! he's a prince, you're a commoner!" He yells and I stood there stun.

"Excuse me? first off, its 5 in the morning! I should be sleeping! I've only had 3 hours! Second off, we are-" I stopped mid sentence as I realized I was about to reveal his plan. Zain looks at me, the creases in his forehead deepened.
"Ah... I'm very sorry Zain but you can't tell others how to feel. By the way, it's 5 AM. Don't you think it's a little suspicious to come by a ladies room or leave her area at the time?" I retort before shutting the door and locking it.

My heart pounded in my chest,
"Real smooth Akane, real smooth" I exhaled. As I sat down on my bed. I begun reading the papers the angry butler had forced on me. It was true. The story was everywhere. Words like,
"The Prince's lover?"
"Who is she?"
"Prince Wilfred's scandalous announcement"
"A commoner?"
I sighed heavily as I felt a wave of emotions.
"Oh Wilfred... You're willing to go though this much trouble just to cut ties with your fiancé hm?"

Later That Afternoon

Zain sends me a deadly look as I passed by him and entered Wilfred's room.
The door closes and I'm face to face with the beautiful prince. Like always, he had on his warm smile.
"Good afternoon, have seat" he gestures me and I sit down in front of him.
"Is there a reason why you called me here?" I questioned him and he loses his smile for a sec. "ah~ it's about the announcement yesterday isn't it?" I hit the nail right on the head as he nods.

"How did you find out?" he questions and I almost find myself laughing but held back.
"A big bad wolf came to me at 5 in the morning and forced it onto me" I casually reply and he raises a brow.
"What else did he do?" he asked with concern.
"Don't worry about that, I'll tell you another time. What's important is about what we're gonna do now" I respond and it catches him off guard for a bit. After a while, the blue eyed beauty looks up at me slowly and says,
"I know this is a little sudden but... how about we run away for a bit?"

I thought I saw a pig fly pass me when he said that.
"Whaaaaat..." I squint my eyes at him, unsure.
"I apologize if that too sudden but I'd really like to get away from all this. Let it die down a little, you understand?" he reassures me and I was still unsure but if it's for the prince, then I'll do what I can.
"As you wish..." I answered and he smiles. "the press was already questioning, flocking the gates and trying to meet with you aren't they?" I add and he hesitantly nods. "oh my..." I exhaled and looked over at the clock.

"So... when are we leaving?" I questioned him and he smiles,
"Pack your clothes, meet me here when your done" he orders and I nod. I was about to leave when I realized,
"Um, Prince Wilfred..." I turn over to him. He looks up at me, waiting for what I had to say next.
"Make sure to bring something casual..." I say to him and he nods.

That Evening

As told by Wilfred, I meet him in his room again and he puts his bag over his shoulder.
"I can take that for you if it's too heavy" he offers but I decline.
"I'm alright thank you" I put up two thumbs up and we secretly made our way out the palace. It wasn't too long before we got into his car and drove off. It was quiet and I only made it more awkward by thinking it was very awkward.
"So tell me about the big bad wolf that disturbed your sleep" Wilfred suddenly brings up and I couldn't help but smile.
