Kaitlyn's POV

Riker and I got up, and rushed into Ross' room. When we got in there Ross was crying, screaming, and thrashing around in the bed.

Riker was immediately by Ross' side trying to wake him up from his dream.

"Ross," Riker panicked, "Wake up Ross!" Riker shook Ross, and Ross' eyes shot open and he quickly shot up. He looked around frantically and cried even harder.

Riker pulled Ross into his chest, and cradle him. Ross wasn't calming down, and I had no idea how to handle the situation.

"Is he having a panic attack?" I asked.

"I-I don't know," Riker stutter. Ross then let out the worst scream I have ever heard. "Hey buddy calm down," Riker cooed, "Everything will be okay it was just a dream."

Ryland then ran in and a look of terror flashed across his face. I automatically walked over to him, and tried to shield him from the scene.

"D-Did Ross have another nightmare?" Ryland asked with tears in his eyes.

"Y-Yeah he did but we have everything," I paused, "Under control." Ryland looked like he was going to cry any minute so I walked him back to his room.

"W-Will Ross b-be o-okay?" he stutter, letting a few tears run down his face. I wiped the tears away on his face, and hugged him.

"Ross will be find RyRy, just get some sleep," I smiled, and watched him climb into bed. I walked out of Ryland's room, and walked back into Ross'.

When I walked in Ross was still crying but not as bad as before. Riker was still cradling Ross, and I sat next to him.

"Is it always this bad?" I ask. Ross looks at me with his tear filled, and all I could see was pure terror.

"Yeah," Riker sighed, "Believe it or not I've seen worse from Ross."

"Really?" I asked, stunned. I'm really surprised, because this just makes me want to cry. I can't imagine anything worse than this.

"Yeah," Riker admitted,"Sometimes he won't wake up, and he'll start kicking and punching anyone that'll try to touch him. One time he was so scared when we woke him up, he just ran out of the house. Rocky and I had to chase after him. He was crying so bad that he passed out."

"Poor Ross," I frowned, and held Ross' hand.

10 minutes had passed, and Ross still hasn't calmed down yet. To be honest I think it's getting worse.

"Kaitlyn will hold him for a minute," Riker asked.

"Why?" I replied.

"I'm gonna go ask Rydel if she has any ideas on how to calm him down," he answered.

"Oh, okay I'll hold him," I smile. For some reason I was a little scared to be left alone with Ross. I'm not sure why I just am.

Riker slowly moved from the position he was in, and I filled his space. I wasn't really holding Ross, but he was sitting on my lap.

Ross' head was on my chest, and he was shaking like crazy so I covered him up in a blanket.

"K-Kaitlyn?" Ross stutter. Thank god he finally said something I was getting worried.

"Yeah Ross," I replied softly.

"I-I s-so s-scared," he cried.

"Ross it was just a dream," I cooed, "It's not real."

"But it f-felt real," he sobbed, "All of the pain I f-felt. It hurt -m-more than anything I've ever f-felt before. A-And I can s-still feel it," he cried. My heart hurt when he said that. I've always known Ross as a happy kid, I have never seen him crying like this and it cuts me deep.

"Ross," I paused, looking for the right words to say, "Just breathe and be strong. Pain is temporary."

"But Scars are forever," he whispered through tears. Tears rolled down my cheeks when he said that. Ross must be in a lot of pain maybe not physically but emotionally and mentally.

"Ross everything will be okay when the sunrises," I assured, and sniffed a little.

"Kaitlyn?" Ross whispers.

"Yes Ross?" I reply.

"Will you sing to me?" he asked. It was then I realized that his crying had dialed down to only a few tears, and his breathing had slowed down.

"Umm I guess I could try," I answered. I'm not the best singer but I'm willing to try. I wasn't quite sure what to sing for him, but I went with the first song that popped into my head. That song was Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift Featuring. The Civil Wars.

I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said, "I'll never let you go"
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, "Don't leave me here alone"
But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound

Don't you dare look out your window darling
Everything's on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when the music's gone
Gone

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound

Oooh, Oooh, Oooh, Oooh
La La (La La)
La La (La La)
Oooh, Oooh, Oooh, Oooh
La La (La La)

Just close your eyes
You'll be alright
Come morning light,
You and I'll be safe and sound...

Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh oh oh

When I finished singing, or my attempt at singing, Ross had fallen asleep in my arms. His tear stained face looked so peaceful asleep.

I gently lied him down on his bed, and tucked him.

"Sweet dreams Rossy Shor," I whispered, and kissed his forehead. When I turned to leave Riker was standing in the door way with a smile on his face.

"That was beautiful Kaitlyn," he smiled.

"How long have you been standing there?" I asked.

"Long enough," he smiled. I blushed and looked at my feet. Riker just chuckled and hugged me. "Thank you," he whispered in my ear.

"For what?" I asked.

"For helping Ross calm down and go to sleep," he smiled.

"Oh it was no hassle he's an angel," I replied, as we walked back to our room.

"An angel with his own internal demons to fight," Riker sighed, and belly flopped on his side of the bed.

"Well Ross is a fighter," I paused, "He'll win the fight."

"I hope so," Riker mumbled. "Now come lay down its three o'clock in the morning and I'm tired," he yawned.

"Okay hold on I gotta pee," I laugh, and walk into the bathroom.

While I was drying my hands I decided to look out the window, and enjoy the view of the night sky. But when I went to look out the window my eyes weren't drawn to the sky. They were drawn a dark figure standing beside the tree out back.

I froze and watched as the figure slowly turned around and walked into the forest.
