Riker's POV

The baby stopped crying, when Kaitlyn handed him to me. Now he's staring at me, and so is everyone else.

"How?"Rydel asked.

"I don't know," I replied.

"It likes you," Ellington chimed.

"It. Is a baby and his name is Dalton," Kaitlyn corrected. I looked at Kaitlyn, as she walked over to me with a bottle in her hand.

"I'll take him,"she whispered. I gave her the baby and she sat down on the couch and fed him.

Kaitlyn's POV

I'm not sure why, but I feel very attached to this baby. He's just so cute. As I fed Dalton his bottle, Riker and Rocky put together his crib.

The crib was gray, and had a changing table attachment to it. At least that's what the picture showed, on the box. By the time Dalton finished his bottle, the boys had gotten the crib out of the box.

"Did you by a portable crib?" I asked.

"Yeah," Riker sighed,"It's over there somewhere."

"I'll find it," Rydel offered, and got up from the couch. I rocked Dalton gently, and soon he was asleep. Rydel had got out the crib, and set it up.

The boys however, were sorting out all of the pieces. Ellington started helping, but it wasn't making the process go any faster.

I laid Dalton down in the portable crib, and covered him with a little blanket. Rydel and I watched, as the boys finally started putting the crib together.

"This is going to take forever," I chuckled.

"You took the words right out of my mouth," Rydel laughed.

"We can here you," Riker glared, and threw some Styrofoam at us. Ross and Ryland came down stairs, and walked over to Riker.

"What's for dinner?" Ross asked.

"I don't know ask Kaitlyn," Riker sighed. The two boys came over to me, and smiled.

"Hey Kaitlyn whats for dinner?"Ryland asked.

"Umm," I paused,"Lets go find something." I got up and the boys followed me into the kitchen. We looked through the fridge, and decided on chicken nuggets and french fries. "Okay its not quite dinner time yet so you guys can have some fruit snacks," I explained, and handed them some fruit snacks.

They high-fived each other then walked back into the living room. When I walked back into the living room, Ross and Ryland were watching the boys put the crib together.

"No, Riker that piece doesn't go there,"Rocky argued.

"Yes it does Rocky," Riker groaned.

"No it doesn't," Rocky stated,"It goes over there."

"The instructions say that it goes here," Riker stated.

"No they say that it goes over there," Rocky grumbled.

"Your both wrong,"Ellington interrupted,"The piece goes here." Riker and Rocky both looked at the instructions, and handed Ellington the piece.

"Oops," Riker chuckled, and scratched the back of his neck.

I looked at the crib, and saw Dalton stirring in his sleep. I rolled the crib into the guest room, so Dalton could sleep peacefully.

When I came back another argument had broke out.

"Ryland quit touching stuff," Rocky growled.

"But I wanna help," Ryland frowned.

"Well you can't," Rocky boomed.

"Yes I can," Ryland argued.

"Ross just go do something else," Rocky growled.

"But I want to help," Ryland frowned.

"No," Riker and Rocky yelled in unison. Ryland frowned then took off upstairs, and Ross followed him.

"Really," I sighed,"You could've let him help."

"He's to young,"Rocky replied. Riker nodded.

"He's 12, and all you guys are doing is putting together a crib," I argued,"Its not like you're building a house."

"Look Kaitlyn there's a lot going on right now," Riker sighed,"And the last thing we need is someone getting in the way."

"He just wanted to help Riker," I defended. Riker didn't reply he just kept working on the crib. I felt a tug on my sweatshirt, and I turned to find Ross.

"Will you talk to Ryland?" He asked,"He won't come out of his room, and I'm worried about him."

I nodded then walked up the stairs. When I came up to Ryland's room, I tried to open the door but it was locked.

"Ryland," I called out. No answer. "Ryland it's me Kaitlyn open up," I added. No answer. "Ryland please," I begged. No answer. I put my ear to the door, and I could here sniffling.

He's crying. "Ryland are you okay?" I asked. No answer. "Ryland if you don't open this door, I'll have to find another way in," I sighed. No answer. I looked at the door handle, and saw that it had a key hole on it. Riker must have the key.

I walked into Riker's office, and looked for a key. I found a key ring with several different keys on it it. Lets hope one of these keys are it.

After several attempts I finally found the keys. When I entered the room I saw Ryland curled up in a corner. I walked over to him and sat down next to him.

"Hey," I cooed. He didn't look at me. I pulled him into a hug, and he hugged back.

"Why do they hate me?" he cried.

"They don't hate you Ryland," I assured,"They're just really stressed."

"Why did they take it out on me?" he sobbed.

"I don't know," I replied.

"I didn't do anything wrong," he cried.

"I know buddy," I cooed,"It's not your fault. It's their fault." It was quiet for a few minutes, before Ryland broke the silence.

"Kaitlyn why do you cut?" he sniffled. It was definitely a question I did not expect. It was also a question I didn't know how to answer.

"Well," I paused,"I cut because.....I...I've been through a lot, and its a reminder that I'm still human." I didn't even understand my answer but I went with it.

"Should I start cutting?" he asked.

"No Ryland," I stated,"Never ever cut. It's bad for you."

"Then why do you cut?" he asked, and looked up at me.

"Yeah Kaitlyn why do you cut?" Ross asked, and sat down right next to me. Where did he come from?

"I just told you my answer," I replied.

"But you say cutting is bad for you, but you still do it," Ryland pointed out,"Why do you still do it, even though it's bad for you."

I was silent for a few minutes, before I could find the courage to answer.

"I do it because I'm a terrible person, and deserve it,"I sighed. I didn't know what just came out of my mouth, but I believed it. I'm a terrible person.
