Riker's POV

I stood there and looked at the baby for a few minutes.

"Who's at the door," Kaitlyn called from the dining table. I looked out to where the person had darted into the forest, then I looked at the baby. The baby was sleeping, and seemed to be about 2-4 months old.

A crack of lightning shook me from my daze, and I realized that it was still pouring outside. I picked up the baby's car seat, and walked into the house.

"We have a little problem," I mutter, and set the baby's car seat on the kitchen counter.

"W-Who's baby is that?" Rydel asked.

"I have no clue," I sighed. Kaitlyn stood up from the table, and came over to look at the baby. To my surprise she picked up the baby, and a note was sitting under the baby. I picked up the note, and read it.

The note read:

Dear children,

You may not know who I am, but I'm an old friend. In order to protect you, I'm asking you to protect my baby. I know he'll be safe in your hands. His name is Dalton, and he is just 4 months old. Please do not take him to any authority. I will be back for the baby when you all are safe.

Sincerely,

An Old Friend

I put the note on the counter, and watched as Kaitlyn held the sleeping baby. Everyone was looking at me, and waiting for me to say something about the not.

"His name is Dalton," I sighed,"And he's our baby now."

"It is?"Rocky wondered.

"Yeah it is," I breathed,"We have to take care of it for someone who is trying to protect us."

"How do we know that this isn't one of Bill's people?" Ellington asked.

"Well," I began,"We don't know, but I guess we're going to find out."

"We don't have any baby stuff," Rydel commented.

"Rocky, Ell, and I will go to the store," I began, "If you guys would make a list of things we'll get them."

Rydel grabbed some paper and a pen. She and Kaitlyn began making a list of things for the baby. I walked upstairs and grabbed some money from the bags we had. I didn't know how much to grab so I just took $3,000.

I walked back downstairs, and the list was done. I grabbed my car keys, and a jacket.

"Rocky, Ellington lets go," I yelled. We waved goodbye, and we made the long trek to the store.

Kaitlyn's POV

A baby. A real baby, in my arms. This is just too much. Rydel, Ross, Ryland, and I walked into the living room, and decided to watch some TV.

I was rocking the baby back, and forth when Ryland sat next to me.

"What's up RyRy," I smiled.

"I'm not the baby anymore," he frowned. I chuckled, and rubbed his head.

"You'll always be the baby Ryland," I chuckled.

"You know," he began,"I had a dream like this once."

"Like what?" I asked.

"Well mom and dad died in a car accident, and you and Riker took us in," He explained,"But you and Riker just had a baby so, you added us to your family."

"Well the good part about your dream is that only half of it is true," I pointed out.

"Yeah thankfully mom and dad are still alive," he smiled. I thought about my parents when he said that. Bill had probably killed my mom, and he already murdered my dad soo... I guess I'm an orphan now.

"Hey he's up," Ross smiled. I looked down at the baby, and saw him looking back at me. He had the cutest blue-gray eyes a person ever.

"Hello Dalton," I cooed. The baby smiled, and looked around the room.

"He's so cute," Rydel awed,"Can I hold him?" I nodded and handed him to Rydel. Her eyes lit up as she played with the baby.

The baby was happy for about 20 minutes before all he*l broke loose. The baby started crying, and there was noting we could do.

Ryland and Ross went to play upstairs, while Rydel and I tried to calm Dalton down.

"Maybe he's hungry," I suggested.

"You're probably right but we don't have any formula," she sighed.

"I'm gonna call Riker, and tell him to hurry up," I announced, and called Riker. When I called him, he was almost home. "He's almost her," I sighed in relief. Rydel did the same as she handed me the Dalton.

I walked back and forth, rocking the Dalton in the process. Soon Rocky came through the door with a bunch of Babies R Us bags. Ellington and Riker came in behind him with a lot of big boxes.

"Thank god," Rydel beamed. Riker, Rocky, and Ellington put the bags in the living room, and I motioned Riker to come here.

"Hold the baby while I go make a bottle," I ordered.

"Wait what?" he asked. I put the baby in his hands and to everyone's amazement the baby stopped crying.
