Chapter 7

Marcus P.O.V

I woke up and looking around my living room, we got blankets and shit everywhere. I looked down at Addison and Aliyah sleeping peacefully. I eased up looking or my phone, "I guess I can go buy them some breakfast real quick", I thought to myself. I threw on a t shirt and my slides, grabbed my keys to my truck and left.

As I was riding I started thinking about everything that happened yesterday, and Monica came to my mind. Man I don't know what was up with her, she was wildin man. If they were to fight, ion know who would've won that shit. I have seen Monica fight before, and she can get pretty wild. Then again, Addison seem like she'd fuck someone up. Im not letting her size fool me and I damn sure hope nobody else do either. Just thinking about this shit got me fucked up cause Aliyah really do like Addison, and Monica hasn't acted like this before. I just need to talk to her and sort some shit out. I got to I hop, went inside to order went outside to call Monica as I waited.

I called Monica, waiting for her to answer the phone. "Hello" she said sounding out of breath. "wassup with you sounding like you can't breathe and shit?" I asked before I started acting crazy. "My bad Marc, I just finished working out not too long ago" I nodded my head like she could see me. "Man we need to talk about what happened yesterday, what the fuck was up with that?" I asked looking around. She sighed into the phone and got real quiet. She finally decided to speak.

"Look Marcus, im sorry for that, I didn't really mean to do that. I was just going through some issues in my relationship and thought you could be someone I could turn to. I see how good of a father you are, and where your heart is, so I thought I could get that. I was wrong for doing all that extra stuff that I did, especially with your girlfriend. It wasn't right and wasn't fair for me to disrespect your house. I was gone call you later on today and apologize but I guess you beat me to it" she said. "Look Monica, ion know the details nor do I really need to know. I just know that you are the mother of my child meaning we're family to death. If you ever need anything you know im here to help you. We too cool for you to be acting like that. We could never be in a relationship or anything like that Monica, that's just not us. We better off as friends and being parents to Li, and im not saying that to be mean. Just respect my relationship and my house and we good" I said looking at the time. I guess ill go in there in about 10 minutes. "ian going to do it no more Marcus, im serious you don't got shit to worry about. You must really like this girl. I see how you are with bitches, so whats up with you and this girl" I chuckled a little. She right, I don't like dating. I never have, its just never been my thing.

"Honestly Monica I don't know, she just different. I know yo ass can tell she's not like no regular female. You got good judgment of people. Especially if you still allowing Li around her cause you know how you are when it comes to Li" I say getting out the car. "Hold on" I say paying the cashier and grabbing our food and walking out the restaurant. "Go ahead", I said getting in the car. "Yea I can damn sure tell she's different. Just by the way she handled how I acted last night, she like you a lot an obviously respects my baby girl. You know I don't like getting crazy in front of Li, that alcohol had me fucked up. She a good one, but if you ever need me to handle some shit, then I got you." Monica said reassuringly. She really a down ass friend, I can stamp that. Monica don't play about the family she has and that's why I love her because I know if it all came down to it, Monica would handle any shit that came down to Li and wouldn't think twice about it. "Look, she good. You don't have to worry about handling shit. This weekend Tyler having a little cookout, you should come. Ill get you more acquainted with Addison. I have to go though, text me and let me know what you gone do. Bye Monica." I said getting out the car and walking to the door. "Bye and give my baby a kiss for me" she said hanging up. I walked in and sat the food on the counter.

I went in the living room and didn't see the girl. I followed the giggling noises upstairs to Aliyah's room. I walked up stairs to see Addison ticking Li and Li laughing her ass off. "Okaaaay Addison you win" she says wiping her eyes. "Ok baby girl, lets go make some breakfast before your dad gets back from wherever he is" she says getting off the floor and grabbing Li's hand. I smirked, they were gone surprise a nigga I see. As they turned to walked to the door, Aliyah screamed and ran to me, "Daaaaaddy! We were going to go make you a big breakfast" she said stretching her arms as far as she could. She so dramatic, I thought to myself laughing and looking at her amused. I picked her up and walked over to Addison giving her a kiss on the check. "Well you guys don't have to worry about that cause daddy woke up early this morning to go get you some" I said smirking. We started walking down the stairs and I grabbed the food off the counter. I placed the food on the table and sat Li down. "Thank you baby, you didn't have to go and buy this food. You know I would've cooked" She said while opening her boxes of food. "Its ok baby, maybe another day, I know you were tired" I said as me and Li was finna dig into our food. Addison cleared her throat before either of us could put our forks in our mouth, "I know both of you better put that down and say grace. I will bless the food" she says grabbing both me and Li's hand. We all bowed our heads and waited for her, "God thank you for blessing us to be able to come together and eat this food. I pray that you bless the hands that prepared this meal and bless it as it nourishes out bodies. Amen" she said. Me and Li both said Amen and started eating our food. I looked at the time and realize it was 11.
