Chapter 12 Thank You

~time skip to prom night~

Merida's POV

I'm pacing around my room in my dress. It is dark green with see-through fabric from my thighs down. My make up is done to what I think is perfect. I'm so nervous. What is Hiccup doesn't show up? What if he doesn't think I look good? Why am I so nervous? I hear the door bell ring. I quickly get out if my room and head down stairs. Hiccup is talking to Father. He looks at me standing on the stairs.

"Mer you look... amazing!" He walks towards me. I blush furiously and walk towards him. I take his hand and walk to the door with him.

"Now be good to ma daughter!" Father says sternly.

"Father!" I yell at him. Hiccup and I walk to his car.

"Ready to go Ma Lady?" He opens the car door. I curtsy and laugh while getting into his car. He shuts the door for me and walks to his side.

"Hiccup?" I look at him. He looks at me with those hypnotizing eyes of his.

"Yeah Mer?" He asks putting his arm around the seat of the car. I lean in until our lips were touching. He puts his hand through my hair. I put my hand on his neck. He pulls away and looks into my eyes and smiles.

"Mer I... I love you." He still smiles. He... he loves me!?

"Hiccup I... I love you to.'' He leans in and kisses me once more before driving away.

Elsa's POV

I put on my dress and check my phone. I'm so nervous. I let my hair down. I walk into the living room. Anna is talking on the phone with someone. I hear a car outside I open the door. It was Anna's date, Kristof. Anna really liked him. She couldn't stop talking about him for the past week.

"Anna is Kristof!" I yell to her. Her head lifts off the phone and runs to the door.

"Kristof!" She squeals and runs to him. She embraces him and he twirls in circles in the air. He put her down. Anna kisses him on the cheek. They walk to Kristof's car. Anna waves goodbye to me. I wave back and shut the door. I walk to the kitchen and pour myself a glass of water. I gulp it down. I knock in the door almost makes me choke on my drink. I walk ti the door. Jack is standing there, with a lilacs in his hand. My favourite flower.

"Hello Snowflake." He kisses me on the cheek. Boy he sure knows how to make me blush.

"Hi Frosty." I take the flowers from him. I extends his hands. I take it and we walk to the car outside my house. He opens the door for me. I sit down and he shuts the door. He walks to his side.

"Els you look... perfect." He blushes slightly.

"Th.... thank you."I blush with him. He starts the car and the radio turns on.
'Where are ü now' comes on.

"I hope you don't mind?" He asks.

"No not at all. It's actually one of my favourite songs." I reply.

"Same." He smiles and drives to the school. We get there soon. From outside we can hear the music playing and the lights flashing. We step out of the car.

"I have something to show you." He says.

"Really?" Not I'm curious.

"Yeah. Follow me." He takes me hand and leads me behind the school. He takes me to this beautiful garden, filled with roses and a small pond. And a gazebo in the middle of it. White lights cover the gazebo.

"Jack this is... beautiful." He leads me to the gazebo. We step on. Suddenly a slow song plays and Jack smiles.

"Jack you did this all for me."

"Yeah. I.. I love you."

"I love you to Jack." He puts his hand on my hip and I put mine on his shoulder. We dance to the song. It was perfect. We didn't say anything but we didn't have to. I wish we could stay like this forever. It was like a dream, or a fantasy.

"Elsa I... I.." Jack looked down.

"Jack... you can tell me anything." He looks back at me and smiles.

"Els I want to be with you forever. When I first saw you I didn't think I would love you the way I do. But now I know we were meant to be." I started to cry. His words made me feel sad, happy, nervous, and in love with him even more.

"Jack... I" He interrupted me.

"No Els, you don't understand. You make me feel some kinda way. I... I don't know how to explain it but, I know its real."

"Jack please" I started to cry more. He wiped away my tears with his thumb.

"Jack I... I... I don't know what to say." I was speechless. I felt the exact way, but I didn't know how to say it.

"Marry me Els." He spoke.

"W... what?" Marry him?

"Marry me. We can be together. I love you and you love me, so why not?" Why? I wish I could but I couldn't. I have to take care of Anna, and I... I have to move away soon. Because of the care program Anna and I have after our parents death.

"Jack I... I can't. I have to take care of Anna and I... I" I walked away to the edge of the gazebo and looked at the roses.

"What? What is it Els?" Jack put his arm around my shoulder. I cried into his shirt grabbing it as I cried. He puts his arms around me. This wasn't supposed to happen. I wasn't supposed to fall in love. And it wasn't so to be this hard! I can't leave him but... I have to.

"I... I have to leave." I was crying even harder now. Jack looked down at me and I looked up at him.

"You're leaving?"

"Y... yes. I don't want to but... but I have to."

"Then don't. You don't have to do anything you don't want to.''

" Jack you don't get it. I do!"

"W.. what?''

"After our parents died, this care program took us in. And after High School I'm supposed to move to L.A.''

"L.A? Why so far away?"

"I... I don't know." I started to cry again.

"Els it's ok. We'll make it work."

"H... how?"

"I don't know.. but I won't leave you."

"Jack I... I think I should go home now.'' He put his arm around me again.

"Ok Els. Let's get you home." He walked with me to his car. The drive was quite. We got to my place.

"Bye Els." Jack said and started to walk away. I grabbed his hand. He looked at me with sadness and confusion.

"C... Can you come in?" I faintly smiled

"Of course." He walked with me into the house. I sat down on the couch. Jack sat beside me, putting his arm around me. I leaned onto his shoulder and started at the dark tv. I looked at him. He looked heart broken. His eyes weary and his face pale.

"Jack if I wasn't moving I would have said yes." He looked at me, kissing me softly and quickly on the lips.

"I know Els." He rubbed my arm with his hand.

"I should go now." He started to stand up.

"Jack... don't go! I... I want to spend as much with you as I can before I leave." I pulled him to me and kissed him. He kissed me back. I jumped up and he held my leg while still kissing me. My arms around his neck. One of his arms around my waist, and the other one around my leg. While still kissing me passionately, he walks to my bedroom, dropping me softly on my bed. He walls to the door and shuts it, locking it as well. He takes his shirt off, through ing it on the floor beside him, reviling a six pack. He leans over top of me and starts kissing me again. I felt alive. It was amazing.
