Energy mage: This type of mage doesn't necessarily have any healing ability, or the ability to overtly sense another person's wari. However they sense people's potentials. On the other side, people tend to love them, without their doing anything worthy to be loved. Unlike the other mage types, this wari angle isn't necessarily the foundation of any other type.

Water mage: This is a mage who can sense another person's wari, and actively heal a person. They delve into the patient's waterways (the flow of wari energy in a person is similar to the flow of water) and can sense physical hurt. They can also kill a person by removing the person's wari, with specialized training. This is the foundation wari angle; all other types of mages (except energy mage) can sense wari and heal injuries.

Mind mage: This mage can not only delve into a person's waterways, but also delve into their minds. While it is possible to control a person this way, such a violation is considered one of the most evil things a mage can do. Most effective mind mages naturally understand how others feel; in this way, they make very good therapists. They can also understand their meanings, so they work well as one-way translators, as when they are in a place where a foreign language is spoken, they can understand the language, even if they can't speak it. Consequently, they learn languages easily.

Prime mage: This is a mage who has mastered all three of the lower wari angles.

Time mage: This is the highest type of mage, very rare, higher than prime mage because it is not something that can just be practiced, taught, and learned. It is thought of as a gift from the Taleni. In addition to wari sense, healing, sensing potential, and understanding intentions in the mind, these mages have a connection to the Taleni. These mages must be willing to devote their life to the work of the Taleni. They may see important events in the future, and can understand with completeness what previous time mages have written. They may see important events in the past and write of them so those who wish to study the events may have an understanding of them; though only other time mages will see the same vision of the events.

Most mages are individuals who show a natural ability to sense wari; however, nearly anyone with a desire and determination may learn to sense wari; since everyone possesses wari, it makes sense that anyone may learn to connect with others. Indeed, the very bonding of a man and a woman, or close kin, is a connection of wari, which connects their minds and emotions, and works similarly to how mind mages sense anyone.
