Adelaide was happy to see that by the week after she badgered Emilia into chatting with Avery, they were going to Hogsmeade together.

The two spent almost all their spare time together, with the exception of when Avery was with Mulciber and Snape, who both still refused to talk to Adelaide. She tried not to let it bother her and decided to ask Lily if she'd care to get a butterbeer with her.

"Good morning Evans."
She greeted when Lily took a seat next to her in Charms, the Friday before the Hogsmeade trip. The two girls had sat together in Charms since fifth year. Lily faced her with a smile, although she looked flustered.

"Oh, hello Adelaide. Sleep well?"

"Brilliantly, as usual. One girl in my dorm is a huge pain in the ass though."

"Who?"
Lily questioned while pulling out her books and quill. Adelaide waved a dismissive hand.

"Her name is Alexandria Borné I think she's French or Polish or something. She's just.. Seriously girly and incredibly prissy, you know?"

"I'm sure she's a real inconvenience to you."
Lily smirked. She caught Adelaide's glare and laughed, quickly making amends.

"I mean, what with you being.. Not very girly, you know? You don't mind getting muck in your nails."
The red head shrugged.

"Like you."
Adelaide nodded. Lily smiled at her.

"Like me."

"So, why so flustered looking?"

"What?"
Lily questioned, confused.

"When you sat down, Evans. You looked panicked."

"Oh that.."
Lily bit her lip and looked uncomfortable. Adelaide didn't press the matter, but saw Lily glance over to where James stood, laughing with Pettigrew.

Adelaide was about to ask Lily about the Hogsmeade trip when Professor Flitwick walked in and told them all to sit down and open their books.

Finally Saturday morning dawned warm and windy, and an hour after breakfast found students meeting in the courtyard, finding their dates and their friends. Adelaide stood alone, in ripped denim jeans and black boots, a beautiful ebony top resourcefully emphasising her curves. Her dark hair was thrown up in a messy bun. Black nails matched her boots. Her eyes scanned through the crowds of third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh years, until finally landing on a flash of red hair.

"Evans!"
She called out while making her way to Lily. The red head spun quickly and faced Adelaide, smiling broadly. Waving over her shoulder, she said goodbye to Marlene, Mary and Alice to stand next to Adelaide.

"Adelaide, hey. How are you?"

"Just fine, how are you?"

"Oh, good, good. So, shall we head for the Three Broomsticks?"

"Sounds good to me."
Adelaide smiled, and the two girls walked side by side to a carriage.

The Three Broomsticks was even more crowded than usual for a Saturday. The door was open, letting the late September breeze cool the inhabitants of the pub. Lily and Adelaide continued forward to a small table by the window, giving them a clear view of the street outside.

"I love this place so much."
Adelaide sighed, taking a seat.

"Me too, it's really.. Quaint?"
Lily tried. She made a face and shook her head, disgusted with her own choice of words.
