It didn't take long and I was already asleep again. Wow, this realization coming true did relieve much stress, made it much easier to sleep. I had been tired all the time before, but for the life of me, couldn't sleep. I got woken up slightly by the shifting of the body under my head. There was a hand full of fingers stroking through my freshly brushed hair, thanks to Stormie. It's Stormie, I was on her lap. She had shifted easily to not wake me, so I kept her thinking she didn't.
She leaned forward to the side so as not to wake me. She picked up her ringing phone. "Hello baby!" She said, starting to stroke my hair again. "Yeah, we are good." Quiet laugh. "Yeah, but now she's asleep laying on my lap." She sighed. "Ross honey, she can't live in the bed. She has to move, or she'll die of boredom." Another sigh. "Yes honey, but maybe you are going a tad too far. She's both, they're both fine. She needs to move some, or than she will have problems." She stopped rubbing my hair for only a second, but started again. "Yes, that's true, but two days ago she was doing just fine. She has to move. Bed rest, or bedroom lock up it appears to be, is not the right answer. Let her go." She laughed lightly. Yay, this wouldn't end up a fight. "She will know, and I think she knows why now, and she will rest of need be. Stop standing over top of her honey, that's all I'm saying. She was out here smiling and laughing before she got tired, and guess what, she laid down all by her self." She spoke a if talking to my two year old cousin in a baby voice for the last few words of that. Then she sighed. "Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Trust me. But most importantly, trust that she knows what she's doing. She's the ONLY one who does!" Thank you Stormie! "Yes honey, I wouldn't lie to you, I've been watching her all morning. She has plenty of spunk, and that's not changing any time soon. Trust that she knows what she needs. Being concerned is one thing, but making her to everything a certain way, that's another." Wow, I would have to remember to thank you. "Okay honey." Pause. "No, she's still asleep, but I'll have her text you when she gets up." Pause than a quiet sigh. "Okay, love you too."
Than her body shifted setting her phone back on the table, but relaxed. "I just wish he understood. Maybe he will." She went back to stroking my hair again. "I know he cares, but he needs to trust in you on this, not all himself."
After only a few minutes of not falling asleep, I gave up. I moaned a deep moan, and rolled over to face her, not quite opening my eyes. I let them flutter open a few times than fall back shut again. When I opened them completely, she looked at me, smiling. "Hey sweetie!" Her voice was soft and back to normal.
I moaned again, stretching. "Hey, what time is it?" I said once back in the normal half curl position.
"Just after eleven. You hungry?" I nodded made myself comfortable on her lap again. "Okay sweetie, if you do let me know." She kissed her hand and placed it softly on my cheek. I smiled up at her.
I decided to play dumb. "Have you heard from Ross?" I asked in a groggy voice, that wasn't faked. "When's he supposed to be home?"
"Yeah, he called just a few minutes ago. He will be home around one thirty." Only just over two hours. "They were getting on the plane when he called. They had to get a connection flight in Lincoln, Nabraske. He's going to call than." She started rubbing my head. "He said to message him through wifi."
I nodded, and went to get my phone. Although only one day,Mir sure was nice to not have her chasing me like Ross dad yesterday. Hopefully after his conversation with his mom, that will change. I walked into the room and grabbed my phone. I also grabbed the new iPod I have yet to set up yet.
I walked back into the living room, but Stormie was gone. "Hey Sweeite. I'm in here," she called from the kitchen. I went into the kitchen where she called from. "I'm making a smoothie. You want one?"
I sat on the bar stool. "Yum. That sounds good actually." I look up and licked my lips. "Yes please!" She laughed, going and adding more to the blender, than turned it on.
"You seem in high spirits. Rested up now?" She asked.
"Yeah!" I smiled. It kinda sucked when I woke up alone in the room, than came out to a silent house." I sighed. "I think it's mainly Ross being gone though." I felt a pout in my chest creeping up.
He stopped the blender, and came and put her arm around me. "Don't worry Dear. He's only scared and worried. I know you are fine, and so is she." She softly placed her hand on my stomach. "He will realize that too. Don't worry."
I knew she was right. I couldn't hide it from her, so I confessed. "I was awake this morning when he called. Well I wasn't until the phone rang. I heard you talking to him." I was staring at my feet. I looked up at her with a smile. "Thank you, by the way!"
"Hey, I figured you woke." She leaned in. "Plus, make sure your reflection isn't in the entertainment center glass." She smiled at me than kissed my cheek.
"Wait!" I snapped my head up jumping off the stool. "You knew I was awake?"
"I'm a mother." She laughed. "I have a nineteen year old, and for in their twenties. I've been around the block a time or two." She winked.
"Oh." I blushed. "Note to self, don't try to full Stormie in the future."
She laughed. "Good note." She grabbed my shoulders, than kissed my cheek. "And by the way, call me mom!" I smiled in agreement. She poured two smoothies and we sat at the bar. Than I went out to the garage to play my guitar, and she sat back on the couch. "Have fun!" She said as the door closed.
