Elijah couldn't help but feel guilty about thinking about Elena especially when he is on a date with Sophie yes he thinks about elena all the time day and night but he knew he shouldn't be thinking about someone who he never see again it's unfair on Sophie and on him "Elijah" Sophie called out Elijah looked up "did you hear anything I just said?" Sophie asked frustrated "I'm sorry Sophie but I wasn't what was you saying?" Elijah said acting like he was interested but when he really wasn't "what's the point of us dating when you don't seem to be here?" Sophie said angrily "Sophie I'm here with you am I not?" Elijah asked "yes you are here in person but your mind is always somewhere else I'm sorry Elijah you are a lovely guy but I can't date someone who isn't mentally here" Sophie said to say the least Elijah was taken back but he understood "there isn't any reason for you to apologise Sophie I completely understand" Elijah said Sophie nodded and left the restaurant Elijah went home "back so soon brother?" Klaus asked Elijah nodded "Sophie dumped your ass then brother?" Klaus asked Elijah nodded again "you are going to have to get over her Elijah you are not going to meet her again" klaus said Elijah knew klaus was right but he just couldn't let her go he couldn't stop thinking about Elena he couldn't stop loving Elena.
Meanwhile Elena has been driving for hours on end she past New Orleans sign and she decided to stop there for the night she got herself a room in a hotel then went to a bar where she saw Rebekah talking to a guy she wanted to turn around and leave when Rebekah was right in front of her "following us now Elena?" Rebekah said "no I've left mystic falls for good and I'm going somewhere but don't know yet im just here for tonight then I'm leaving again in the morning Rebekah" Elena said replying to Rebekah "then stay out of Elijah way he been pinning over you sense we left mystic falls I don't want him to get hurt" Rebekah said Elena nodded "well who do we have here Rebekah Elena" klaus said klaus got bored cause Elijah was thinking about Elena "klaus" Elena said and went to the bar Rebekah told klaus that elena wasn't staying that Elena was leaving in the morning "Elena don't let Elijah see you please let him go he loves you Elena he can't seem to let you go" klaus said Elena nodded she asked did the bartender have any paper and a pen the bartender got her some and Elena wrote a note to Elijah and gave it to klaus
