When I woke up I saw Jumoke lying next to me. I kissed him to wake him up. His lips curved into a beautiful smile. This is the man I am in love with. And he wasn't afraid of me. That thought made me so happy. He made me so happy.
"Morning beautiful" he said.
"Morning" I reply wriggling out of his grip.
"Where are you going?"
"Need food. Want to come?" I asked.
"Hmm bring it here. I want to spend time with you. We haven't been able to see each other that much. Plus it is the first morning of you being my fiancé."
"Ugh fine. But, not long okay I have to help with things such as packing!"
"Okay. Just a little while." I said slipping out of the tent. People were everywhere. I guess it was the good news. Going back home is quite exciting. However, everything is different now which makes it also scary. People were around the fire with a huge pan hanging over it. Grabbing two bowls from the pile I scooped some porridge into each bowl. Things were limited now and supplies running low. But it doesn't matter now hone is just over that hill. Maybe I have raised my hopes up a bit too much. Anything could happen. There is probably a huge army waiting for us. All I know is a few men went to get the woman and children who stayed back at camp. They left early this morning so will be back around lunchtime. Then off we go.
My mind kept wondering over what could possibly go wrong. I am so desperate to get back. There are many people I want to see.
"Ah there you are." Jumoke said standing at the end of the table fully dressed.
"Thought we were eating this in bed."
"We were, however, something has happened. Reports from our scouts have said the city is being left by all soldiers. The people are driving them out. We need to move fast!" He said looking into my eyes. I felt vulnerable when he did that.
"This is amazing!" I ran to him. Throwing my arms around his neck and kissing his lips.
"But, only if they want us back."
"Oh you do look on the negative side. Think about it. Why wouldn't they want you back? They all love you."
"I wouldn't know what I would do without you." I kissed his lips.
"You better go." I said he needed to go. He then walked out taking his porridge with him.

After a few hours later Rosie ran in.
"We are leaving now. Quick grab the main things you need. Jumoke wants to walk in with you. There will people collecting the tents later." She said picking up things off the floor.
"Calm down. Really all I need is clothes and some food. Does Jumoke need anything?" I asked.
"Yes he does. Jumoke just wants some clothes." Rosie told me.
"Okay. You better sort yourself out. Otherwise you won't have anything which isn't good." I joked.
"Don't worry I have sorted us out. I am here to help you." Rosie laughed. We packed a satchel full of clothes with a blanket attached. Once we had finished there were horses waiting for us.

Soon there was a small group of us on our way to the city. I was full of nerves. Jumoke had made me ride next to him. Which felt odd. I was always at the back of the group with the other servants.
There were at least six hills to ride over. As we reached the top of the fifth hill the palace was creeping over the top of the other hill. It was a magnificent sight. There was smoke rising from the buildings making our view hazy.

Once we reached the gates it was dusk. There were two men stood outside. It wasn't proper soldiers.
"Please stop where you are." One of the men said. Both stepping into the gateway.
"I am Jumoke your Pharaoh. Please let me pass. We are very tired and have been travelling for a while." Jumoke declared.
"Oh, your majesty. We apologise, everyone has been waiting for your return." The other guard said. Both of them moved out of our path and we moved forward. Stepping through the gate felt weird. It has been a few months since we were galloping out towards our freedom. As we went through the main street families came out of their homes. News travelled fast through the city. They were lining the streets, smiling and happy cheering. Many bowed their heads as Jumoke passed. Children were waving frantically. The city was run down. Buildings had been burnt. What had happened while we were away? These people were treated horribly. It was so sad. I felt so guilty that I left them. Then my mind thought of Cissy. My eyes scanned the crowd trying to find her. It felt so long since we had talked. I couldn't see her. Panic rises up. She would love to see us back her. Then I saw a girl huddled in the corner. She had bruises on her face and arms. That couldn't be Cissy? Then the girl looked up. Our eyes connected those bright ones which I used to know are now dull and lifeless. Stopping my horse and got off. Everyone watched me walk towards her.
"Cissy." I whispered as I approached her. All I got was a nod as a reply. It was her. My strides got bigger to get there quicker. I need to embrace her. I reached her and put my arms around her tiny body. This poor girl. She can never forgive me for leaving her alone. But, I will make it up to her.
"Come on. You can come with me. Get on the back of my horse" people were still watching us. I climbed back on to my horse and helped her onto the horse. Then we went on our way. It is crazy how thin she has got. What has happened? Was it that guard? Did he touch her again?
"Femi.. I am so glad you are back. Life has been tough since you and the Pharaoh disappeared." Cissy's voice broke.
"I am glad to. Cissy I am so sorry I didn't take you." I apologised to her.
"It is okay. I understand you had to leave. It was for the best. I couldn't of lived that way." She replied.
"Let's get you some clean clothes." I said and it all fell silent. We continued along the street heading towards the palace. Then there were screams. I looked to my left and saw Jumoke with an arrow in his head. I felt numb. Blood was everywhere pouring down his face and back. There was nothing I can do. I am useless. All this power I have and I cannot save the man I love. The guards rushed Cissy and I inside the castle.
"Femi? Femi?"
"Huh oh sorry yes." I replied to Cissy.
"Let's get you to bed and a drink. Okay come on let's go." Cissy ushered me to the stairs.
"No I can't leave him! Don't make me leave him." I lunged forward. Cissy grabbed me around the waist and dragged me up the stairs.
"It is hard. It will be okay over time. Trust me." Cissy's reassuring words weren't working. All I could think of was him, lying there, blood pouring everywhere. We were so close to our happiness. Being together. We can still be together!
"Cissy I will be fine. I need to be alone for a while. You get someone to look at those bruises." I tell her. This girl will be fine.
"Okay." She nodded and walked down the hall. I turned away towards his chambers. There was a writing desk in there. I will write Cissy a note. She will be in charge as there is no direct heir to the throne. I sat down at the desk pulling out some parchment.

Dear Cissy,
I am sorry I have to do this and it lead to this. We have only just found each other again. Now I have lost Jumoke I cannot stay here without him. This is my last letter to you. I have to join Jumoke. He is the love of my life and I have lost him to soon. Please tell people it was an accident. I cannot allow people to know that and they will be ashamed of what I have done.

You will take over from me. I will put you in charge. As there is no direct heir to the throne now. So at the present time I want you to be in charge. I will sign so papers and they are in the top right corner of the desk.

You have been a good friend to me. I am glad we knew each other. Thank you for your support. We will see each other soon but not too soon. Live a full life.

Love Femi.

I folded the parchment in half and scrawled her name on it. Signing the documents that left Cissy in charg and putting them in the draw. Getting up and looked out of the window. This was the room Jumoke had kissed me. Our first kiss just here. I need to stop you can be with him again.

I walked up the steps to the roof. Nothing can stop me. I am joining him. All I did was slip. No one will know other than Cissy. Who I trust with this. I trust her in charge of the city as well. I reached the end of the stairs and moved across the roof. I was nervous, however, this was right. And had to happen. I looked across the city. It was a lovely view. The last view I see. I stepped over the edge and fell. Falling and falling. I will be with Jumoke now. Then it went dark.

A/n it is all over! Thank you all sooo much for your support. You have been absolutely incredible! I am writing another book so that will be up soon. This one won't be eygptian. Thank you again!
