That morning when you and Niall shopped at the local grocery store Niall suddenly became aware of what he was missing. Everywhere he looked he saw kids running down the different food aisles, climbing on the carts and helping their parents shop.

"Babe,"

"Mmm?"

"I think I know what we're missing."

You held the list you had written that morning and scanned for anything you'd forgotten but everything was there, you made sure.

"No I don't think we're missing anything I even checked the fridge."

Niall let out a small laugh, "Not the food Y/N. I mean I know what's missing in our lives. We're married and stable and very in love," he kissed your cheek, "I think we should try having a baby."

You weren't ready for that so you stared at him hoping he'd continue talking but he didn't, he waited with an hopeful look for you to say something.

"Yes- yes, I guess we could try but you know it'll be challenging and it might take a while."

You looked around and saw a kid hugging his mom and another one climbing shelves, wondering which one yours would grow up to be.

"I wanna get started right away. Let's pay for this real quick and go home." Niall took your hand in his and pushed the cart with his other hands.

"Wh- Now? Like right now?" he smiled and approached a cashier, ready to leave the place.

Niall dropped the grocery bags on the counter, a few of them tumbling over, and rushed by your side grabbing your waist and lifting you on your toes so he could kiss you. You couldn't help but giggle at his eagerness, "Niall wait wait- not here! Let's go to the bedroom," he barely heard you speak over the sound of his lips on your neck and chest but he sighed deeply and picked you up leading you to the bedroom kicking the door open.

"I get a feeling this will be our lucky day."

the bed had a rough time.

You ran down the store days later to pick up a pregnancy test and waited for the results. Feeling pretty good, you called Niall to the bathroom and the both of you waited for the test to turn pink; except it didn't. It was blue.

"'t's okay. Y/N, it's okay, it wasn't time. We'll try again." he rubbed your back and pulled you in for a hug. "This just means we'll have plenty more nights like the last one. Not so bad, is it?" you smiled at him remembering how well he performed the night before and the lack of pressure you felt.

"Clear your plans for tonight?"

"Bet on it."
