Niall and I walked into the floral shop, along with my sister and our wedding coordinator, Michael. Niall didn't want to come, but I had persuaded him to come along with us.
"Babe why did I have to come? I don't care about flowers!" He said.
"Because this is your wedding too! I want your opinion on things!" I said.
"Babe I trust you, and I'm sure I'll love whatever you pick!" He said.
The owner of the shop came over to us with a warm smile and extended a hand. We followed her into a meeting room and took a seat around the table.
"Okay so tell me a little bit about the wedding." She said.
"We're getting married at the Oheka Castle, and we are going to have the ceremony outdoors in the Gardens and then our reception is going to be in one of the ballrooms." I said.
"Lovely! And what are your wedding colors or theme?" She asked.
"It's blush pink and gold." I said.
"Oh, I love those colors!" She said smiling at me.
"Okay so let's talk about your bouquet first," she said.
She opened her portfolio and flipped to the section with the bridal bouquets.
"Here are some bridal bouquets we've done for other weddings. I'll give you a minute to look through them. You can tell me if there are any that pop out at you. And if you don't see anything here you like, we can certainly put a unique bouquet together for you!" She said.
"I know I like roses and peonies. Those are my favorite flowers, and they are romantic and classic." I said.
"We have a lot of brides that love roses and peonies!" She said.
As I flipped through the book there were a few bouquets that stuck out to me. The first was an all white peony bouquet and it had some kind of green plant as a filler. It looked very romantic, which is what I liked.
The second bouquet I like literally took my breath away. It had a lot of different flowers including calla lilies and dahlias. It also had a few brooches which gave the bouquet a touch of sparkle! And the flowers were cream and pink that went perfectly with the color scheme for the wedding.
The third bouquet she showed me had cream and blush colored roses with white peonies. It also had a few bejeweled brooches to add some sparkle to it.
The fourth bouquet was the traditional all white rose bouquet. It was pretty but it was too simple, and too overdone for my tastes.
"So did any of these jump out at you?" She asked.
"Yeah, I really like the second one with the calla lilies and the brooches in it!" I said.
"That's my personal favorite! This is my favorite bouquet I've ever put together!" She said. "Now let's talk about the bridesmaid bouquets she said.
"I was actually thinking that I want their bouquets to be similar to my own. Would it be possible to take my bouquet and make them all white and take out like the brooches and the extra stuff? Like just have the same flowers in white?" I asked.
"Yeah we could do that, and I think they would look great in pictures!" She said.
"Okay, and then we have to talk about boutonnieres." She said.
"I have thought about this, and I really want pink roses, but I want Niall to like them too." I said.
The florist and I both turned to Niall. She flipped the portfolio to a page with rose boutonnieres.
"Something like this is what Y/N is looking at for the wedding." She said pointing to a picture of a pink rose boutonniere.
"That's fine with me if it's what you want." Niall said looking at me.
"Okay so now let's talk about the rest of the wedding. Are you looking to decorate your ceremony or reception with any flowers?" She asked.
"Yes! I think Michael and I talked about decorating the arch for the ceremony with flowers and then we want a lot of flowers at the reception!" I said.
"We definitely want just roses and peonies for the wedding. And we want them in light pinks and whites!" Michael, the wedding planner said.
"Okay great!" She said.
