Win or lose Mason was happy that justice prevailed. The Police Chief believed him, again, in his assumptions and deductions about what went on.

At the police station later that day, everyone was in one jail cell by design of Mason Adams and just as Mason expected if you put all the criminals together they will start to fight amongst themselves. Of course every word was recorded on video.

Madam President still trying to take charge of the situation. The others telling her to shut up. She started to get furious and nervous at the same time realizing that she had a mutiny on her hands. Now demanding a cell for herself. Demanding her telephone call to the Minister of Education.

Phone records showed calls being made to Julian from Melissa's phone on the day Ceyon was murdered.

It was a dead giveaway to Mason when he saw the size of Julian and heard his voice in the classroom at the university. It was the man that first tried to run him off the road and then shot at him. He was sent by none other than Madam President Marie Nicholson herself. Julian drove Nicholson's SUV to run him off the road.

Mason was thrilled that the whole thing was solved in his mind.

He had to run and tell Gigi.

They sat quietly for a while under the shade of an ackee tree. There was a lovely, cleansing, cool breeze. Both turned their faces into it. It was refreshing. Mason always had to shake these cases off of himself.

If you have ever seen two ducks fighting in the water. They splash and spray and yell at each other but when the fight is over they float away but every time they flap their wings to the fullest extent possible then settle them down again in their folded position against the body and calmly float away. As though they are releasing all the negative energy they had from the fight with the other ducks. That is what Mason had to do each time he solved a case. It was never easy for him. That was the only way that he could survive this.

Talking to Gigi after the case was always his way of flapping his wings to release the negative energy, calm himself, be at peace and move on.

"One thing I didn't tell you before is during all this guess who had the nerve to go on Profile with Ian Boyne?! Marie Nicholson!"

"I can't believe it!" Gigi exclaimed. "I call that being right in everyone's face."

"Yeah, I committed a heinous crime and I am on national television talking about how wonderful I am." Mason shook his head.

"What did she say?" Gigi asked. She didn't have a television so did not see the program herself.

"She said, 'You do what you have to do to get to the top. Whatever it takes.'"

"That sounds like something she would say." Gigi concluded.

"Even murder someone that is threatening your position." Mason stated. "I even noticed that she went from Acting President to President. That is how they had her listed in the television interview. Just bump off someone that could become President in your place and then all threat is removed and they give you the post."

"I still can't believe what I am hearing."

"I told Timar to get the transcript of the interview and study everything she said. The bold faced lying hypocrite said all kinds of things that would implicate her in the interview. I'll never forget her face. She is like the devil himself. Not a compassionate or human bone in her body. She doesn't look like she ever cried a tear in her life."

He had to get up again and go in the kitchen to pour himself a coffee to calm down. It was part of the 'wing-flapping-process'. The big flapping was coming soon.
