Gigi Galt was Mason Adam's best friend from day one. She was his confidant about everything. She was the only one that he could fully trust.

"What's going on?" She could tell that he was beside himself as he paced back and forth in her living room.

"It doesn't add up. It just doesn't add up."

"What doesn't add up?" Gigi asked.

"We keep texting each other everyday but I don't know if she likes me or not."

"She texts you..... everyday?"

"Yes. And sometimes I have no phone credit and she sends me credit."

"Well......that's because she wants to talk to you."

"I really like her but I don't know if she feels the same about me."

"What is she saying to you?"

"I told her that I would be in St. Thomas for a few weeks on a high-profile case. She said that she was going to miss me."

"What?" Mason just looked at Gigi when she spouted out the question. "Well, of course she likes you. She said she was going to miss you while you were away?"

"Are you sure?" He asked. Not at all confident about women.

"I think, I am sure, after all the last time I checked I was a girl still. I think I know how they think and what they feel for a man."

That was the first time Mason laughed in weeks. He was a very serious person but knew that he needed to lighten up a little.......no.....a lot. That is why he loved Gigi so much. She could always make him laugh and make him feel......well.....human. He needed her more than she knew. Or maybe she did know.

Gigi loved Mason because he was brilliant but still in all his logic had a huge heart. The biggest one she had encountered thus far in her life.

"What is her name? Where did you meet her? How long have you known her? Come on spill....."

Mason smiled again. He needed this badly. And he needed to talk to her about the case too. But first things first, 'the woman'.

"Her name is Jael McNeil."

"Jail? What kind of a name is that?" Gigi loved teasing him.

"No not Jail, Jay-elle." He laughed again.

"Ohhhhh!" Gigi said with an impish smile.

"May I continue?" Mason said in a mock upset.

Gigi bowed her head to acquiesce.

He smiled that killer smile again. "I met her at a police function. They had an awards ceremony. They invited me. My friend Leithon English brought her to the party. She is his cousin."

Mason laughed to himself thinking about that night because Leithon walked in with this woman on his arm but he always told Mason that he wanted an Asian woman, preferably Japanese. So what was he doing with this beautiful Jamaican woman on his arm.

"I have known her for a couple of months now. But I am so busy that I don't get a chance to see her very often. You know what my schedule is like. So we are texting a lot and talking on the phone when I can spare the time. It is driving me crazy because I do want to spend more time with her. Believe me she is so worth it. But my schedule is crazy. The police have me bouncing all over the country solving crimes for them."

"You've known her for a couple of months, she texts you everyday, she sends you credit so that you can contact her, you talk on the phone, but you don't know if she likes you or not?"
